DVD Empire Exits Gaming Business & Explains Why

Posted by CheapyD

DVD Empire, an independent online retailer of DVDs and video games has recently announced they will no longer sell video games, resulting in a 20% off clearance sale. More noteworthy, are the explanations they've posted, blaming “video gaming industry greed” that “only cares about mass merchandisers like Toys-R-Us, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, etc.”, tiny margins, the lack of price protection/product returns (“80% of the games created are crap”), and other issues that face the independent game retailer. Definitely worth a read.
