Posted by SolidSnake86, 28 October 2013 - - - - - - · 322 views

Favorite New Magazine: Shadowland #9 (Batman, King Kong, Sleepy Hollow) I just ordered the latest copy of Shadowland Magazine. I wrote a review awhile back of an earlier issues. Just received issue #9 in the mail, and if this is a sample of what I've been missing recently, I'll be needing to order the back issues very soon!

Quick run down of issue #9, there's a phenomenal Adam West Batman cover (also a neat, decent-sized ar...

Car Repairs? Anyone know anything about transmission shift pins?

Posted by SolidSnake86, 06 September 2013 - - - - - - · 610 views

So I was going to the dentist yesterday, and my 1998 Dodge Neon was working like a charm. Left the dentist, got into the car and the manual 5-speed gear shift was completely loose. It wouldn't catch any of the gears whether the car's engine was on or off. It almost seemed like the base of the gear shift had collapsed. Needless to say, the car is immobiliz...

Any fans of horror, sci-fi & fantasy genres out there? I've posted about a few of the older issues of Shadowland Magazine in several previous blogs...

The latest issue has content on all of the Alien films, the 1990s Flash TV series, the Phantasm films, Golgo 13, Wolverine, and tons more. They're currently carrying the magazine at Barnes & Noble....

How, in the span of a week, I've grown to hate Naughty Dog...

I was never a huge fan of the first Uncharted, I thought it was an exceptionally fun game but far from the masterpiece some claimed it to be. The graphics were phenomenal when it was first released, and they still hold up remarkably well.

Well, it took me awhile to give Uncharted 2 a whirl, which as most everyone said, was a marked improvement over the f...

Best horror, sci-fi and fantasy magazine...

Posted by SolidSnake86, 12 April 2013 - - - - - - · 52 views

I've been a strong supporter of Shadowland Magazine since they first came out back in summer of 2011. At that point the magazine was only available on their website, but it looks like issue #7 is finally the one to arrive at Barnes and Noble.

I picked up the current issue last week and was blown away. Fans of horror, sci-fi and fantasy movies, comics, e...

Wii U Madness! A Gamepad no one's seen yet.

Posted by SolidSnake86, 26 November 2012 - - - - - - · 51 views

Can't get your hands on a lone Wii U gamepad? Some fellow is selling one on eBay...though it lacks complete functionality. Actually, it's just a piece of cardboard, but it's going for $90,000 as of last viewing. Yep, you read that right. I assume it's a prank, but the bidders have prior history, so maybe not? Whatever the case, it's spawned a ton of imita...

Car Vandalism Sucks

Posted by SolidSnake86, 13 November 2012 - - - - - - · 90 views

On Sunday morning some asshole Fuck wit smashed the rear passenger side window of my car, along with bashing two windows on the neighbor's car. I'm royally pissed, because it looks like it was a random act of vandalism without any real motive. I never lock my car doors since there's nothing in there to steal - and nothing was taken. So I'm lead to believe...

Hellraiser: Virtual Hell - the best unreleased horror game?

Posted by SolidSnake86, 07 November 2012 - - - - - - · 188 views

Just picked up the fall issue of Shadowland Magazine and there's a lengthy article in it about the unreleased Hellraiser: Virtual Hell computer game from the 90's. I remember hearing about the game way back when. Anyway, they interview the head developer and storyboard artist and it's an interesting look into the darker side of game development. There's a...

Missed Out on Dead or Alive 5: Collector's Edition

Posted by SolidSnake86, 25 September 2012 - - - - - - · 61 views

This is one of the reasons why I hate Gamestop exclusives, because you never know what's going to be a pain in the ass to purchase later and what's going to be around for some time.

I skipped out on the "Gamestop Exclusive" Dead or Alive 5: Collector's Edition, figuring I'll pick it up after the reviews are in, unboxing vid, etc, and what do you know - t...

History of Horror Video Games

Posted by SolidSnake86, 20 September 2012 - - - - - - · 49 views

I've mentioned Shadowland Magazine months back in someone else's blog who had been asking about magazines worth checking out. So I figured that due to the content in Shadowland's current issue, it might appeal to some CAGs here.

I've been picking up Shadowland since their second issue and I'm always impressed by the articles. It'll appeal to anyone inter...
