What are you playing this weekend? The Tyler Edition

Posted by tylerh1701, 07 September 2013 · 905 views

Figured since DaddyBoJangles hasn't posted one yet, I'd go ahead and usurp all the glory and post the WRUP blog post this weekend.

Saturday I'll be hanging with my family. Monday is the 5th anniversary since my dad passed away, so my family is going to mass tomorrow and probably dinner in remembrance of him. Also hoping to get a haircut at some point during the day. Sunday I'll visit my grandma's like always and take it easy. First full week of football this Sunday. I've turned into one of those apathetic sports fans. Growing up I loved sports and I still follow football regularly, but I really have no interest in actually "watching" the games anymore. Especially early in the season. I attribute it to a mix of the Dolphins constantly sucking for the last decade and the changes in both the game and the oversaturation of football. I just get sick of hearing about it from friends, family, coworkers, online, and on TV. It's like, once football season starts (both college and pros) it's the only thing people want to talk about it. And it's not that I can't keep up with the convo, I just get sick of all the armchair analysts piping in with their 2 cents.

Anyways, on the gaming front I'll be finishing up Capsized on XBLA. I'm sure I'll start a new game up, but I have no idea what. I've beat quite a few games in the last couple weeks and so it's time to find something new. Maybe Metal Gear Rising, but I just beat Anarchy Reigns on Tuesday so I'm not really in the mood for another Platinum action game.

What are you playing this weekend?

Tales of Xillia:)

I'll be playing Saint's Row 4 today, and watching football all day tomorrow (much to my daughter's chagrin)

I'm gonna try and wrap up Darksides and Knytt Underground in my quest to rid myself of PS+ backlog (fighting a losing battle, I know). I'm surprisingly quite liking Darksiders, though it's almost hilarious how it almost completely mirror's Zelda's formula.

Knytt I'm not so sure about. I find it easy to get lost in the game, but the world is so large and hard to move around in that I feel like I'm never making any progress as I repeatedly fall off ledges to the bottom of the map. It's certainly unique I'll give it that, but I'm not sure I'm enjoying it or if/when I will be able to finish it.

Other than that I will probably be jumping between a ton of different Steam games and never finishing any of them, but at least I try

Too much real life this weekend for gaming, but if I find time I'll pick at dead space some more. At this rate I'll be done with it before 2014!
I'll be doing my usual household duties (cleaning, laundry, etc.) I'll be finishing up Muramasa Rebirth. I finished both characters stories, I don't know if I want to get all the endings. Now I'm just going back to different areas, forging swords, and leveling up. Then I'll finally start Tales of Xillia.

Batman Arkham City is taking all of my time now.  Ill supplement that with some NBA 2k12 and Avengers Pinball.

Thanks Tyler!

This weekend I am going to be jamming on Final Fantasy 14 pretty much exclusively and will probably be the only game I play until Grand Theft Auto 5 drops. FF14 has hooked me and the storyline is actually decent! I'm sorry to hear about your father, My childhood best friend who I grew up with passed away 10 years ago today. A lot of people who knew him growing up are meeting at a park nearby in rememberance given it's been 10 years. Seems like a lifetime ago.

Have a good weekend everyone!

I'm going to try to beat Dead Space 3, DS3 actually became my favorite installment in the franchise. Its not as scary the other ones were but it feel better than the other two. It might be because you can create weapons. Next, i'll be playing some Hard Corp: Upraising and some Mark of the ninja. These two games became my favorite XBLA titles I own.

Mostly going to stay at home and relax this weekend. My main games right now are Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden (replay) and Etrian Odyssey IV (postgame).

I want to take up Halo 4 again and finally do the Spartan Ops stuff, but am going to be saving that for next week at the earliest.

Darksiders 1 is great.  It has an awesome Zelda vibe with a little bit different battle system.  I bought it and Bayonetta on release and ended up loving both of them.  I enjoyed Knytt Underground for about 75% of the game.  If finally started feeling like a grind for the final quarter of the game.  The map is just a little bit too big in my opinion.  It did give my my fill of exploration for a long while.

The original?  That's the only one I've played.  Quite enjoyable, but I really don't like scary/jumpy games so it was hard for me to play.

I actually took yesterday off and got 3 loads of laundry done and dishes, so that leaves me with more of my Saturday.  Muramasa looks great, I'm just waiting for a cheap price ($10-$15) to actually pick it up.

Batman Arkham City is taking all of my time now.  Ill supplement that with some NBA 2k12 and Avengers Pinball.

Arkham City is great.  I love most the Zen Pinball tables, but I've been surprisingly disappointed with the new Star Wars tables I just got.  Maybe I'm finally burnt out on pinball.

Thanks Tyler!

Have a good weekend everyone!

I'm tempted to get GTA V at launch because I've heard rumors that Best Buy is going to do a guaranteed $45 trade in value on it for the first month.  Normally I don't buy games at launch, but the $45 stacked with a $20 Gamers Club Unlocked preorder giftcard would make it a free monthlong rental for me.  I just need to confirm that Best Buy is actually offering that trade in deal.

Glad to hear DS3 is the least scary one.  I still need to get through 2.  Like I said above, I love the survival gameplay, but I don't love things constantly jumping out at me.  Mark of the Ninja is probably one of the best XBLA games I've played, but I just cannot get into Hard Corps Uprising.  I like Contra enough, but I've tried twice to get through the arcade mode of Hard Corps and just quit both times.  Just not clicking with me.

Saints Row The 4TH all weekend! :)

A ton of Final Fantasy XIV

alice madness returns, the platform jumping is getting on my nerves. I lost count of how many times i died jumping. LOl

CoD zombies.  New map pack came a little while ago and I think it's my favorite zombies map ever.

Just platinum'd Saints Row IV so now to finally start Killer is Dead :)

I finally beat Primoridia (PC) good point and click game. I also beat Fable: TLC (PC) which I took a decade to beat. I am currently playing Remember Me which I believe I am on Episode 6 so 2 more episodes to go and I will be finished. The fight mechanic (combo system) is interesting but it is annoying some foes cannot have a combo done on them. Also, there are some bugs which are annoying me. I might see if I can look into another game to clear my backlog. Possibly a light game.

Weekend wise. I was able to watch World War Z (good movie) and I will just relax today.

:ps3: Sly 3

:ps3: Fallout 3

This weekend, I finally finished Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City including DLC. I feel the game was a bit of a letdown compared to 4 and 5 but nowhere near 'the worst game ever' as many like to say. It was cool to play different characters and run into the familiar faces throughout the campaigns.
