What Are You Playing This Weekend - Good vs. Evil Edition

Posted by tylerh1701, 17 January 2014 · 607 views

Sorry DaddyBoJangles, stealing the thunder.

Big thing again this weekend for me is football. I'm quite interested in both games this weekend. One of my closest friends is a huge Seahawks fan, so obviously I despise them. They've also somehow become the trendy team to cheer for, I have two other friends who have definitely hopped on the bandwagon. So the 49ers smashing them would be the absolute highlight of my weekend.

As for the AFC, well, I live in Salt Lake City. The Broncos might as well be the home team here in the state, and that is not a good thing. I hate the Broncos. I've always hated the Broncos. I hate how popular the Broncos are here when they're doing well. If the 49ers beating the Seahawks were an ice cream sundae, then the Patriots pounding the Broncos would be the cherry on top.

It also doesn't hurt that I went perfect last week with my picks, and if it's a 49ers/Patriots Super Bowl I'll almost be guaranteed to win the bracket pool I'm in. And if it's Seahawks/Broncos in the Super Bowl, well I may just have to hang myself.

As for gaming, Rayman Legends Vita will be mostly what I play this weekend. Gotta ship it out to Amazon on Tuesday so I'd like to get as many of those 700 Teensies as possible before then. I'm at 160 now and the game has been great, except for the Murfy levels. Those are boring and ruin the pace of the game. Feels like I'm watching someone play the game and I'm just there to swipe the screen a few times. The Murfy levels are implemented way better on PS3/360 than they are on Vita and WiiU.

So what is everyone else playing?

Ace Attorney 5 DLC here and not much else. Might start something new on either PC or DS, but don't know what that would be yet.

I played the original Ace Attorney years ago.  It was alright, but not enough to ever make me want to venture further into the series.

More Batman: Arkham Origins and Fire Emblem Awakening.

I am a few hours into Assassins Creed Liberation HD. So i will most likely continue to play that. I never was big into switching games back and forth. I always play one until im completely done with it, then move on to the next. Unless its some kind of multiplayer online shooter that i can just pop in for a few hours of fun.

I've played all of them save for AAI2, which was never officially released in English, so you could say I'm a fan  AA5 is good, but hardly the best game in the series.

Finished off Borderlands 2 the other day so time to dive all the way in to Gears of War 3 as my multiplayer game.

I did a pretty good crash and burn last week with my football picks but hopefully we can get the 49ers/patriots super bowl that you are envisioning.

I am going to bounce between Castlevania HD MOF on 360 and DMC and FIFA 14 (cause its like that) on PS3...because I am back to playing video games instead of hanging out on the internets. Too much time spent not playing games any more.

Surprisingly my picks weeks were all spot on, so lets try this again-

Seattle Large Flying Seasalt Birds and... Pats (I just threw up in my mouth typing that).

More Batman: Arkham Origins and Fire Emblem Awakening.

I enjoyed Arkham Origins.  Felt a whole lot like Arkham City, but that's not a bad thing. Didn't bother with the multiplayer, I heard it's terrible.

Have this on Vita but haven't gotten around to it.

I'm waiting for Mirror of Fate HD to get 50% off or more on PSN and I'll definitely be getting it.

AC:Liberation HD for me.  Hoping to get all 400 gamerscore in it by the end of the weekend.  Loving the game so far.  I have it for Vita but the controls felt kinda awkward to me so I never got really far in it.  I would say Tomb Raider completion as well but I already finished that off last night.  Now to wait for the Definitive Edition and get the 1K on that as well :D

I was able to beat Rage (PC). Definitely fun but the ending was kind of meh. I will see if I can start another game. Possibly a console game such as The Last of Us (PS3) or another game but I am not sure yet. I am going out with friends for a belated b-day dinner and music event. Sunday, I will see if I will watch some NFL playoff games.

Oh and I am playing some old PC games Syberia (PC) and Sacred 2 (PC) and I am about 1/2 or more finished with one and about a 1/3 with the other.

After work, I'm going to get the last trophy in Lego Batman 2 on the vita. This will be my 2nd platinum. I downloaded the Bravely Default demo this morning so I'll try that when I get home.

Nice, Lego Batman Vita is one of my 16 Platinums.  Not a very tough one, did get kind of boring by the end, which happens when you try and platinum any Lego game.

You're name reminded me of one other thing I'm doing this weekend. Haha.

I live in Massachusetts and I'm a really big Pats fan, so i'm looking forward to tomorrows game a lot.  While on paper the Broncos seem to have a pretty distinct advantage, I do think the Patriots are able to pull it off, whether it be by them playing well, or Peyton crapping his pants as usual, or a combination of both.  I also hate the Seahawks (and Pete Carroll in particular) so I'd like to see San Fran trash them as well.

I also have the first game of a new basketball season tomorrow. My team had previously been like 23-0 over the course of 2 seasons before crapping our own pants in the championship last season so we are definitely looking for some payback.

As for video games I'll be playing The Banner Saga on PC, I've really enjoyed it so far, although I wish there was more spoken dialogue instead of just reading text.  I'll also probably be playing some 3ds, which will most likely be some SML3D and Tetris

Thanks for posting this last weekend!
