Ranking My 18 Platinum Trophies

Posted by tylerh1701, in PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita 23 May 2014 · 854 views

I'm bored and need something to do until my lunch at 11:30, so I thought I'd do an overview of the 18 Sony games I've actually been able to Platinum.

#18 Lego Indiana Jones 2 - A pretty crumby game and a pretty boring platinum.

#17 Lego Batman 2 (Vita) - Little bit better than Indiana Jones, but still not much to be said about it.

#16 Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection - A pretty simple platinum where you really didn't have to put much time into any of the games in the collection.

#15 Spare Parts - A downloadable game that had no right to have a platinum trophy in the first place. Pretty simple and a little grindy at the end.

#14 Smart As... - Pretty fun brain game, but a grindy platinum. My rarest platinum due to the grinding and it being free on PS+.

#13 Trine 2 (PS3) - Fun game but terrible trophy implementation. Platinum was achievable well before beating the game for the first time. Way too easy.

#12 Sly Cooper (PS3) - Excellent game but the platinum was super easy. Basically just had to beat the game to unlock it.

#11 Jak & Daxter (PS3) - Even better than Sly, with an equally simple platinum to earn. Very little required beyond beating the game.

#10 Tearaway - Pretty simple platinum that mostly consisted of collect-a-thon trophies. Very enjoyable game.

#9 God of War: Ascension - Fairly challenging platinum because I found the campaign pretty challenging on the Hard difficulty. Also one stupid trophy locked behind an online pass.

#8 Minecraft - Definitely not a challenging platinum but a fun one to obtain. Trophies well implemented in a way to make the game fun to play through and give you a reason to get all the way to the Ender Dragon.

#7 God of War II - My first platinum and a fairly simple one at that. Great game.

#6 Guacamelee - An excellent game and fun time to platinum. Great combat system.

#5/#4 Sound Shapes - Death Mode levels were equal parts enjoyable and frustrating. Beat on Vita and cross-saved to PS3 for 2nd plat, but I'll replay the game again on PS4 to get the third plat.

#3 Trine - Awesome game and one of my first plats. Fairly challenging for me.

#2 Dokuro - Great puzzle platformer with tons of puzzles. Fairly tough platinum, boss-run trophy without getting hit was especially tough.

#1 Velocity Ultra - Another enjoyable game, and my most difficult platinum according to PS Trophies. Some of the later levels require a lot of practice to get Perfect scores on.

I don't have 18 Plats, I think I just have 13 some notable ones

God of War 1-3

Uncharted 1-2

LittleBigPlanet 1

and the one that probably took the longest

Final Fantasy 13. 120 hours and some change clocked for that plat.

Those are some good Plats.  Uncharted collectibles are a pain and I don't really replay games so I've never gotten those platinums.  FF13 is a good one too.

From this titles

God of War 1-3 (simple)

Uncharted 1-2 (#1 is brutal)

LittleBigPlanet 1 (hardest plat with online trophies)

Final Fantasy 13 (skipped)

@Tyler

I probably will try hard mode on the PS4 version.  I played through most of the game on hard anyway when the 2nd DLC came out because I had to unlock certain powers or something for it.  I don't remember but it was a pain.

All my really good completions are on the 360, but I do have the Rocksmith plat which is crazy rare.  And I think I was the first on PSNProfiles to get some of the Rock Band 2 trophies, which is kind of cool.

I'm pretty proud of the Uncharted 2 and 3 100%s.  The plats are easy, but the 100% completions are pretty brutal, especially 3.
