What are you playing this weekend?

Friday :D

Shout out to those of you who fill in on the weekends I slack off. I really appreciate it and I love the community here on CAG Blogs, you guys are great! This weekend is going to be a nice laid back quiet situation. Quality time with the family and just relaxation time. Sunday I'll be having some of my friends over for a Board Game Night, picked up a Small World expansion pack so I'm eager to get that going.

Game wise, I just hit 50 on FF14:ARR. I finished up my Job quest, finished up the main story and now I am in the end game gear grind for raiding mode. I beat Hard Mode Ifrit last night but since he drops a weapon I need, looks like many more fights coming my way. With that said when I hit 80 in GW2 and there was no real gear grind and it was more so you go run dungeons/fractals every 2 week update content with no real gear progression I missed the gear treadmill. Now that I am back on the gear treadmill I don't think I missed it as much as I thought I did. I got burnt out on trying to do every single achievement every 2 weeks on GW2 but to their credit some of those achievements are implemented for those who want the challenge I doubt I would burn out on just enjoying the content they release every 2 weeks instead of trying to max it out. Gonna prolly start mixing GW2 back into my gaming rotation now that I am max level on FF14. I missed you GW2 :D
Also going to see if Rockstar will finally let me play GTA Online this weekend. Several of my buddies on Live we're lucky enough to get to play this week, I didn't try as much as I probably should have. I knew from MMO experiences this launch was gonna be rough and pretty much planned on not being able to play for a week or two anyway after it launched. I hear a patch is dropping today that is supposed to fix a lot of issues, if one of those is allowing me to finally play the tutorial missions and get in a friends game then I'll give it a go.

And finally I am going to install Costume Quest on Steam and start playing that game, seems appropriate for October right? ;) This update was longer than normal sorry for my rambling

What are you playing this weekend?

I'll be interested to see yours (and others) impressions on GTA online. It sounds like it'll fall between a normal online mode diversion that's tacked on to so many retail titles and an mmo so I don't know what to make of it. I am curious though.

This weekend it's AC3 (finally) and LBP vita for me. I forgot how much I like Assassin's Creed games - I want to cruise through this one so I can guiltlessly start AC4 right on 11/15 on the shiny new PS4, but my favorite things about AC games (wandering the world climbing stuff and multiplayer) are a huge distraction.

I regret having to put the excellent Puppeteer aside for AC3, but sometimes a man has to make the hard choices in life.

I'm heading out the door as soon as I finish typing this for a weekend at the Cape with my wife, my best friend, and my cousin (she's married to my best friend)  Kids are staying with my parents for the weekend.  We've got about a three hour drive; I can't wait to get there!  On the downside, this means I'll be doing no gaming at all until we get home Sunday night, at which point I'll try to get in a little GTA V time.  I'm still slowly working through the single player, but I'd be up to give the multiplayer a try.  DBJ, if you're looking for someone to roll with, hit me up if you see me on.  Almost none of my real world friends are on Xbox Live, so any GTA V multiplayer I do will be with CAGs, so anyone here, feel free to hit me up.

@pete I wouldn't mind playing AC3 myself. I enjoy those games as well and I haven't even touched 3 yet, next time I see it on sale I'll grab it.

@danimal of course bro! We got our online crew set up ill have my buddy shoot you an invite to it

Maybe that new Kingdom Heards 1.5 HD game.  Maybe something else yet, not sure.  I just binged on GTA V so I could get through the single player and trade it back in, so I think I burnt myself out on games a little bit.

I also just got 6 free months of HBO from Comcast, which means I now have access to HBO Go, which is absolutely amazing.  So far I've been rewatching all of Curb, but I'm looking forward to checking out Game of Thrones, The Wire, Veep, and more.  HBO Go may end up cutting way into my gaming time for the next 5 or so months.

@tyler I am about to try The Wire out myself, BrBa being off the air I need something to fill the void.

I finished up 400 days last week so I don't know what I'll be playing.  I can't wait for season 2 to come out.  I need to find my 360 controller because playing with a keyboard and mouse on the couch is not very comfortable.

By the way, is it just me or does the blog section seem less visited now?  The blog link has been taken out of the top of the page and is now a small link at the bottom so it's not a visible.  It took me a while to even find where it was.  There also doesn't seem as many posts as there was before the 3.0 upgrade.

I will start working Saturday's this week. Weekends are normally slow at the Call Center so I'll bring my 3DS. It's time to give it some love since I haven't been playing that many games on it. I started playing the Etrian Odyssey IV and Untold Story demos and I'm enjoying them. I like Untold Story more than IV but IV is on sale for $20 this week at Gamestop so I'll be playing that this week. Also thinking of getting Soul Hackers too but I got a feeling it might be cheaper next month on Black Friday. Anyway I will finish up Tales of Xillia. I haven't been playing it in a while so I just want to finish Milia's story and move on to something else.

Slack ass!! ;)

I've been so close to 100K gamerscore since the spring.  Just haven't been very motivated to put up points so I think the time has come for me to throw down the gauntlet.  I have to finish Lego Pirates if I want to hit 100K on the dot and that has been the main reason I haven't.  So I think I might buckle down and play that this weekend.  I think I'm in the minority but I don't really find the Lego games all that fun (at least the older ones).  I hear LOTR and Batman 2 were really good though.

Aside from that I will probably play some more PS3 aka Xillia so I can then move onto that timesink known as FFXIV. :D

I'll be finishing up GTAV tonight and then it will be mostly GTA Online with some Theathrythm mixed in as I try to max out all the characters before Pokemon drops next weekend.

I've been disenchanted with a number of games recently, so I'll probably just stick with Uncharted 3 (free-to-play) Multiplayer. I already capped at level 15, so unless I decide to pay, which is unlikely, I've reached my limit. The multiplayer's okay at best, and it has its moments, but I'm getting a little bored with it -- and that's only after a week or so of playing.

Though, maybe I'll be feeling adventurous and plug in the ol' Gamecube for some Battle Stadium D.O.N.

AUDIOSURF 2 :whee: :whee: :whee: Need to load up some fresh tunes to my Windows partition first, though.

Also still plugging away at Pokemon Black 2.

Need to start something else, as well. Right now I'm leaning toward giving Return to Castle Wolfenstein one final try... hopefully I won't get bored of it this time and can motor my way through the campaign.

I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV right now. I'm probably not going about it the easiest way possible since I want to play as a White Mage on my PC and as a Bard on my PS3, so I haven't hit level 50 yet. Right now I'm a Level 32 Archer and 10 Pugilist, so I'm 5 levels away u nder Pug to unlock the Bard quest. I'm also a Level 26 Conjurer and 7 Arcanist, so I'm a bit farther away from unlocking the White Mage quest.

Im working on finishing GTA IV which has just been sitting on my shelf for years.   I want to get GTA V sooo bad but my backlog just screams at me all day.  I have so many AAA games just waiting to be played.   Ill eventually finish IV then Ill probably move on to Tales of Graces F.

I'll be playing ARES, Torchlight 2, Valdis Story and then I'll pretend like I feel like playing GTA V

I am finishing The Walking Dead (PC). It is a good click adventure. One decision can cause so many consequences. I am also finishing Alan Wake: The American Nightmare. I might see if I should start playing more console games possibly this week.

Other than that I have a family event and possibly catch up on a few shows I have missed this week.

Well I was hoping to play Hitman: Absolution, BUT it seems the PS3 version is either broken or simply hates me, as I've not been able to play more than 10 minutes without it crashing :-(

So I suppose I will finish up Ico (playing it again in HD), Costume Quest (am nearing the end, not sure why I dropped it for a week), and A Virus Named Tom. Then I will likely find myself continuing either Eternal Sonata or Rayman Origins, assuming I don't disappear into XCOM again if I buy it on PC (which looks very likely).

Or in all likelihood I might not wind up playing much of anything and just laze off watching anime. Seems I'm feeling exceptionally lazy these days, and even a game requires too much attention. I don't know, maybe it's just another gaming fallout phase, but it is certainly an unusual thing for me to not be dying to play something or another.
