What are you playing this weekend?

Friday :D

I am missing a child this weekend as my oldest sets out for a cruise to the Bahamas this week with my parents. Gonna miss that little guy! I HAVE to go see Godzilla this weekend, looks awesome. Anyone else planning on seeing it opening weekend?

I finished Child of Light this past week and it is by far one of the best rpgs Ive sat down and played in awhile. Some people harp on the length of it but I look at Child of Light in a sense that, I loved JRPGs when I was younger. From Chrono Trigger to Lunar to Final Fantasy to Kingdom Hearts, I loved that shit. Ill still play a new JRPG from time to time but not as often as I did in the past. Child of Light was a great way to go back and get that JRPG fix without having to put in the usual JRPG hours. The aesthetics of the game only added to my enjoyment of the experience. I'd recommend you check it out.

I'll be trying to go from Tier 2 to Tier 3 on the gear treadmill in the DCUO world. Checking out some of the new alerts that I never got to mess with on the PC version. If time permits I'll be starting up Infamous up on the ps4 as well. Anyone buying a WIIU for Mario Kart? I think I am taking the plunge.

I'm going to be playing some Super Time Force.  I downloaded it the day it released, but haven't had a chance to dig into it yet.  I'm really looking forward to putting some time into that.  I'd like to go see Godzilla this weekend, but I may wait a week or two.  Definitely want to see it in the theater, though.

Good morning :) I didn't really do any gaming last weekend and wasn't planning to (which is the main reason why I didn't post then), and I don't plan on doing any this weekend-- my new desktop machine should be coming in today and I need to set that up and finish backing up the old one.

Something about giant Monster movies on the big screen that begged to be watched. Godzilla looks amazing!

Good ole gaming hiatus! Congrats on the new rig, what are the specs?

It's a base model 2013 Mac Pro; the only customizations I got was slightly better graphics cards (dual AMD FirePro D500 cards-- would've preferred Nvidia, but that wasn't an option) and AppleCare. My old desktop Mac/Windows machine is a first-gen Pro that's about seven years old; it's a wonderful piece of hardware, but it's… kinda old now  I'm hoping this new one lasts me just as long, or longer even.

This new Pro's my combination Christmas and birthday present from my husband (come to think of it, I seem to remember that my old one was a present from him, too). I also had to buy a hard drive enclosure to go along with it (for my backup and Windows drives), and sprung for a new Dell monitor at the same time. So yeah, gonna be busy this weekend setting up all of that!

I'm thinking of making it an indie game weekend. I had Brothers and Journey on my system for a while now. I'll just knock those 2 out. Then I'm going to try and finish Jude's story in Tales of Xillia.

Just beat Uncharted 3 last night.  Lots of fun but I agree with the consensus that it's not as great as 2.  But it did get 30 GBs off my hard drive, which is wonderful.

I think Infamous 2 is next.  Another 20+ GB space sucker and should be a really cool game.

Also may start up Uncharted Golden Abyss on Vita.

DBJ,

I am currently finishing with Folklore (PS3). Basically I am about 60-70 percent finished with the game give or take. I am trying to see that I can finish Resonance (PC). Other than that, I will look into doing some IT projects. Other than that, I will see if I can work on PS Vita game since I have not played it so much lately.  This weekend, I do not have too much do either so that is also good.

Yeah Uncharted 2 was the best one by far and the ending was good. Uncharted 3 was good but yes, the 2nd one was by far better.

Beat Toy Soldiers (great XBLA game!) last weekend. Recently started up the Witcher 2 and was hooked after completing the prologue. I doubt I'll put that down but if I do, I want to play some Halo 4 after the Halo 5 news was released.

Saw Godzilla last night. It was amazing. Even better was the new Interstellar trailer. As for gaming, I'm still progressing in Borderlands.

Watched Godzilla and Neighbors last night. Both were great. But. Godzilla needed more Bryan Cranston. Neighbors was so much better than I expected it to be.

Surprisingly, playing Modern Warfare 2 for fun, and No More Heroes Red Zone.

Playing some Gundam Extreme Vs.  and maybe Uncharted 3 multiplayer. Won't have too much time for gaming this weekend.

I did check out Godzilla and, I'm sad to say, I absolutely hated it. I'm a huge fan of the Japanese Godzilla films, so I have an automatic bias against another American version -- but I did my best to go see it with an open mind and watch it as if it's a clean slate. Well, I did...but wow, looking at it as just a sci-fi movie (nevermind a Godzilla movie) it was incredibly boring, horribly filmed and they made it so gravely serious that I nearly walked out of the theater...and I would have, had I not paid for the outrageously priced 3D movie ticket.
