Howdy all, I'm looking to buy a couple of action/adventure movies with some schmexy action in them that AREN'T set during the present day or if they are, I'd like them to be different from uh.. real life.. like.. say a movie with current technology and everything but Hitler won WW2 or theres crazy immortal's battling in New York for power ;). Oh also, none of those old martial arts movies. New stuff like the blind swordsman is groovy.

Ok, some examples of movies I like to help form an idea-
-Brotherhood of the Wolf
-12 Monkeys
-Highlander
-Cutthroat Island
-Man in the Iron Mask
-Zorro Movies
-Batman Begins

Not the biggest fan of sci-fi, but as long as the movie focuses more on action/plot and less on technology thats fine. Looking back at my list it seems swordfighting is always good..and then again not required.

Oh, if you happen to mention a movie I've already seen.. I'll give you a 8-) as a reply just cuz you're so darn cool for suggesting a movie I've cared enough about to watch.

Alright, suggestions if you please :)

Banliue 13
That looks good, I'll have to check it out.

On a side note, it isn't really an adventure movie, but I saw The Crow last night and it was pretty awesome.

I second Count of Monte Cristo. That movie just gets better every time I watch it. Plus it's cool that the Count / Jesus himself, Jim Caveziel, is apparently going to school where I work (Notre Dame)!

Well SOS, your movies are sure hard to find. I picked up Monte Cristo no problem, and I just found the Returner today in the Foreign Films section at Hastings. As for Fearless, I found a movie called Fearless, but it didn't star Jet Li and looked like some lame drama movie, and I'm assuming you meant the Fearless from January this year. As for Battle Royale.. no luck at all finding anything even simular to it. Last hope is Circuit City, which I will try tomorrow.

Oh I'll put the prices I bought movies at here:
Returner- $10.95
Count of Monte Cristo- $9.99
