While game stores have the right to refuse service, takes trade ins? They don't have the right to not sell a game and keep it for themselves? Take for instance its a last copy of a promo copy game but they don't want to sell it you, when it rings up on their system... As this happened to me before...ahh

They 100% have the right to not sell it to you.

Indeed.

But keep in mind, if this decision is made by a cashier, and for their personal gain (not becuase you're being a douche), a chat with the manager can affect the situation. Just remember- don't be a douche! ;)

Exactly, although I read your promo copy thread and it sounded to me like it simply could have been an employee worried about selling a promo copy, a lot of those things have Not for Resale stamped on them.

Still bitter about Shadow Hearts? If it says NOT FOR RESALE, its is, infact, not for sale.

Yes, being that was a USED copy and Shadow Hearts was in inventory as a NEW copy. We had this discussion last week when he posted his story, right?

it was a sealed copy dude, I believe the new one goes for 14.99. I don't see how they can sell a used one but not sell a sealed one?

Because they didn't pay for a new one.

Im confused. They had a SEALED NEW COPY of Shadow Hearts that said NOT FOR RESALE on it. Apossum was talking about a USED COPY of Zelda CE they were selling...where did you lose me?

They can sell a used copy because they bought it (from a trade-in). They did NOT buy the NOT FOR RESALE NEW copy, that was given to them as a promotion to sell the second game.

I think as long as they aren't refusing service to you based on race, religion, sex, or physical ability. I don't think there is much you can do.

Throw money(exact change) at the cashier grab your stuff and run. Problem solved?

Yes, problem solved, but not yours. Actually that's theft. You just stole the item and gave a bribe (for lack of a better word) to the cashier if it wasnt' properly rung up.

If that's the case, I've stolen many newspapers due to slow 7-11 cashiers.
