don't they usually add the extra 10% after the price and extra 10 bucks for trade ins? As I know at EB it wouldn't work if they added the extra 10% before the extra 10 bucks for 3 for trade ins. I think I got ripped off somehow at gamestop. As I received the extra 10% on the first 2 games but not the third game.

1st game= $1.10, reason: extra 10%
2nd game=$2.20, reason: extra 10%
3rd game=$19.00, original price without extra 10= $9.00 reason: extra $10 for every 3 trade ins.

total= 22.30 for the trade in. It's only about 2 bucks but...The guy fucked up on the last game!

Did they scan your Edge card? It adds the 10% automatically.

I had a similar issue they would not scan my card. they said the 3/$10 deal did not get the extra 10%. I wonder if this is a policy change up in Sacramento.

The computers at Gamestop won't allow the $10 bonus and extra 10% to stack. Crappier stores will add a bonus to each game (i.e. $4/$4/$2, $3/$3/$4, etc.) and totally screw you on the 10% extra, but others just add the $10 to the third game of each trio so you get the 10% on the other two. About the only thing the clerk could've done differently for the OP is give the $10 bonus on the $1 game and allow the $9 game to qualify for the extra 10%.

EB had no problem adding the extra 10% when I traded some games in. However the card had to be scanned after the trade in with the extra $10 then the extra 10% would work. I noticed gamestop adds 10% on top of each game not the total value on top of the extra 10. Which leaves you a bit short....

In the past the system seemed to do it. They would add the 10% first by scanning the card then adjust the bonus on the games second. Now they would not even scan the card unless I did not want the 3/$10 deal.

You're not supposed to get both. It's one or the other. Those employees were doing it wrong.

At EB the Edge card bonus is automatic and a part of the luxury of having paid for it - started doing this right around the time the trade 4 get $10 started. The computer adds 10% to the final value of any overridden price. If they didn't do this, they could go ahead and call themselves Game Crazy with the MVP card for as much use as it would be.

As had been said before, if they don't want to give you the bonus, buy a used game on the same transaction, they will scan the card for 10% off the game, and it will automatically add 10% to all the trade-ins.

Right. I know it works. The employee is supposed to take the discount off of the trades that get the bonus $10 or manually add the 10% to the non 3 for 10 extra trade.

Example: trade 4 games @ $5 each.
This should total $30.50 (3@$5 +$10 and 1@$5.50)
Not $32.00 (4@$5.50 +$10)

And the poster that should be in place with this offer states that it doesn't combine with any other.

Alt+F4 will take the discount (or bonus) off of any highlighted item in a transaction.

Since ya pointed out that it works automatically, the employee discount will apply to everything in a transaction as well on top of any other promotion 99% of the time. But we're not supposed to get that either. Proper training of associates would rectify this situation.
