I just purchased Indigo Prophecy for the Xbox and the control style in that game woudl be perfect for the Wii. It is sort of like an old school point and click adventure game. But to do actions you guesture the right thumbstick in certain ways ala opening a door and various task.

Those movements could be traslated to the Wii controller. The game flooped. Atari is basically dead... again. But that kind of adventure game or gameplay ideas could be a pretty interesting Wii game.

Any other games you think released recently could be ported and expanded on the Wii?

Indigo Prophecy is sort of like an old school point and click adventure game without the pointing or clicking or adventuring or gaming. That being said I would actually like to see Indigo Prophecy on the Wii. Like you said the game controls do rely a bit on gestures which would map perfectly onto the wii-mote.

Some other games I would like to see come to the Wii are the fps that never made it onto the GC. A slower paced fps like Doom 3 would work really well I think. Maybe also the Ace Combat games.

I dunno... you had to do some crazy button presses for Indigo Prophecy. I'd think my wrists would start hurting if I played the game for more than 20 minutes at a time.

None.

There shouldn't be any old ports just new games for the new system.

"Loom", with using the Wiimote as the distaff waving it around to weave musical drafts to change the enviroment.

I dont think heavy rain is actually inproduction. It was just a demo to show off the technology.

"Some third parties have shown a lack of imagination when dealing with this new platform. The way the Wii is being built you have to design for it. Ports and upgrades are no good. That thinking takes a little bit of creativity and not every publisher has the necessary creative people available."

Well, I don't think it would work with RE4 except the parts with Ashley.. but with RE0, it would be great. I wonder what that unnamed RE game for the Wii will be. I'm really hoping that it is RE5 w/ wiimote functions or maybe a sidestory that explains some things.

And I'm sure I'm not the only one, but Okami would be a fantastic fit for the Wii. I really hope that Clover Studios realizes that. They already have the idea but are on the wrong platform. I know that their games didn't do so well on the GC but they did even worse on the PS2 so I can't understand why they aren't showing any love for Wii (via Okami) or GC (Godhand).

AND the new games that are coming out.

There's only one being made, but it's in episodic content. And it's coming from a developer who didn't do the first, and is basically unproven at the moment.

I hope it works and the new one is good, but I'm reserving judgement.

Coincidentally, I'm playing through the first right now.

Strell: you know not what you are talking about. It's developed by Telltale Games, who consist of most of the old-school LucasArts staff that DID work on the first one, and Steve Purcell has been hired to write the story (he's the creator the characters and the original comic that started it all).

If you haven't yet, you should check out their adventure game adaptation of BONE (and if you haven't read the comic, I highly urge you to do so... it's magical in every single respect). With the Great Cow Race (Bone Ep. 2), the Telltale guys have more than won over my respect, and I am willing to bet my left nut that you will love the new Sam & Max.

Sure it could. You don't really have to worry about why another character is there storywise just like in the Halo games. We all know Master Chief is the last Spartan, and no one really cares that you play another Spartan in co-op.

Especially considering Wii will be bringing a whole new way to play games, I odn't want old ports.

I guess... or maybe the second player could take on the role of one of those policemen? They story could be changed to that one of them survives. Or maybe Leon could come with a partner?

Well I have been thinking about this.

We had been shwon geist and it looked to be pretty good, then it came out...

What if they finished it early and let it go so that they could get to work on a more plished version for the Wii? It would make perfect sense and it would be an established franchise.

I'd have to say Gun, I'm a sucker for western movies but it would be cool to have 2 six shooters. and when your riding the horse you could turn the wii-mote parrellel to the screen and use it as the reigns.

I agree with the need for a good western that makes full use of the wii-mote, but I'd rather have a new game than a port of Gun.
