Shouldn't Valkryie Profile be a tie for GOTM?

8.0+8.0+6.5=22.5
8.0+7.5+7.0=22.5

According to EGM, VPL didn't get GOTM just because someone gave it the 6.5.

He's not allowed to have any other opinions than that of your own! :hot:

I saw him make his reasoning to the other reviewers on the 1up show and understand his reasoning for not scoring it as highly as he thinks the game should've been better translated to a portable medium. While he's not oggling the game like the other reviewers, he's not really going against them by saying it's a bad game, just that it could've been better.

It seems like it could be part of EGM's new policy to be tougher on yearly franchises and port and remakes. It's the reason why NCAA is so unusually low, as they say the game didn't wow them enough to get scores like it usually did in years past. I was a little surprised that they decided to ignore reviewing the PS2, Xbox, and PSP versions and instead writing a few sentences to say that they have more features and are better. :-s

Fuck yeah he isn't allowed to have ideas different from my own. You aren't either, so shush up!!! Eh, I don't give much heedance to EGM anyways. They have a HUGE Sony BIAS. EG see thier DS vs PSP article from about a year ago and thier followup a couple months later. Even though the PSP had fewer AAA titles they rated the PSP higher in both articles. EGM=on SONY's Payroll. Not hating on just EGM, I think game journalists both online and print are too elitests, straying away from the whole range of gamers. This game is not the perfect game as I would like it so it will get a 6!!!!!!!!

And going back to the 1up show with Shane he tries to defend a 6.5 as a good score. A 6.5 is NOT a good score (a 65 on a 100 point test is a F) and will probally discourage a good amount of sales. In PS1 times load times were comonplace. Is Shane expecting the port company to rebuild the whole game? A couple of load seconds should not make them lose them lose 3.5 points on a truly great game (going of the PS1 game)

Especially when there's new CG movies and story elements, the sound is a little better, and the sprites are generally smoother than in the PS1 version. He pretty much ignored all of that.

:-s His complaints were about how it wasn't adapted well for handhelds, like the lack of save points, the controls, and a few small graphical annoyances (stretched backgrounds and such). He's pretty much rating the package itself, not the game behind it. That's why he's able to say the game's good, but give it an 6.5 score. Everyone already knows the game is good, but they want to know how well they were able to port it to the PSP. I don't why you're getting so hung up on seeing a game not get the score you'd like, like it demolishes any chance of you ever enjoying the game at all.

How does one article make them biased towards Sony and the PSP? Wouldn't that mean that PSP games would get higher scores than DS games, which I'm not seeing here. Hell, for their E3 issue, they gave the DS's showing a rating of A while the PSP got a C+. They even rated Sony the worst amongst the next-gen showings with a B- compared to the B+'s they gave to the others. I don't see their apparent "bias" anywhere, just your inability to accept opinions that are not your own.
