I think the word is "justified" in that they are kind of rare. Now granted, I could go into a gamespot that sells NES games and probably find one for cheap, but still. You can't walk into any old Best Buy and find these things. So they're "rare" in the sense that you'd have to try a good amount to locate them.
They're not super rare though

That guy claims SMB/Duck Hunt is a "sports" game. Come on, Duck Hunt is fringe sport at best, and I don't recall SMB being up for Olympic status.

The use of the word "RARE", spawns more hits.
eBay, is the only place for collector's to snag a lot of treasures, neede for their collections.
So, a lot of people, like myself, type in, for example; Nintendo rare.
So now everyone has to do it.
If there was a universally accepted alternative for that specific word, that's what they'd use.
Like, sealed, mint, scarce, and new.
If you notice, the word "RARE", is not in the descriptive paragraph, and only in the title.
That's because a buyer, can't argue, that their newly found "Rare" game, was described as so.
I haven't been to one,..but I truly beleive that the eBay University teaches sellers, to use such jargon, to boost sales.
What a waste of life, those eBay scum!

Ebay sellers should be required to say why something is rare when they use that word.
i.e. Rare because only 10,000 copies were printed; rare because it's highly sought after by collectors, etc.
SMB/Duck Hunt is neither (not even close).

I agree it's used too much. Too many sellers think it will cause more people to bid I guess.
