What is a Pdiddy? Seriously, though, I don't think it is gonna convince anyone to buy an Xbox, but it probably won't drive anyone away either.

He is a whore but I think it cant hurt with street cred...at least with some people.

I think he will hurt xbox sales if he even affects them at all. Gangstas and games doesn't sound good together.

I think he will help the sales. Its pretty well known a celebrity can market about anything and make it sell more. I think the real key with it though is how they use him in commercials? Use him right and good will come.

I am picturing the next version of Grand Theft Auto, featuring real celebrity thugs, motion captured in the act of comitting actual crimes.

This is pretty stupid. What does Pdiddy know about games? Hell, Pdiddy isn't even IN any games (that I know of).
Bill Gates should promote the Xbox. People know he's a computer geek and a ruthless competitor, which certainly fits in with the Xbox Live mentality of gameplay. I mean, you KNOW Gates would try to gib every damn guy on your CTF team just to get the flag for himself :).

Yeah, although I agree with you, it's all about marketing. P diddy has a custom line of high-class, tricked-out SUVs (I think Escalades?), and an entire clothing line. Success from nothing but image, not necessarily skill.
Well, someone could make a legitimate argument that he's a business man first and foremost and that's his skill.

Damn, well Pdiddy is now officially a sell out and to what, the Xbox.Not lke PS2 needs it really but jebus. Oh well, soon i'll see his gangsta commercial and just laugh my ass off trying to act cool for the cammyras. It'll be the best thing since... sliced bread.

He's been promoting Xbox for awhile now. Are you guys really just finding out? In fact I think hes contract with them is over. I haven't heard him on the xbox commercials in awhile.
