Freaking ebay

Man Ebay ticks me off. There's an online auction, so I bid. Now the guy has 46 hours to accept my high bid. I just don't understand - shouldn't it have said "reserve" so I know right away if my bid was good enough. Then there's optional insurance - the color scheme makes me nauseous, and you have to read 20 dialog boxes to make sure you don't miss something like "$13 shipping", "XBox Box", or "can only pay using gold dinars or the Albanian paypal system"

It's too bad there's no decent competition for Ebay's auction site, I have always hated the way they do business but with the exception of Amazon marketplace or Half.com, there is noone with half the breadth of used stuff that Ebay sells.

Yeah - it was bought by ebay - they were going to buy it and shut it down M$oft style - but the method used on half.com is SO superior that their customers convinced them to leave it up.

Half.com - simple. Why can't we have an auction site like that now?
