If I bid on an item, and I have less in my PP account than will cover the cost of said item, and it is time-sensitive, my question is thus: Can I pay with credit card if the auction says "Seller prefers PayPal" and has all the credit card logos pictured beneath? There's something I want to bid on, obviously, and I have money, just not enough in my paypal at this moment. Transfers from bank accounts take a couple days.....which is inconvenient at this juncture.
Thanks for reading.

Assuming the seller has a Premier account (which eBay requires if you put the Paypal logo in your auction description), you can pay the rest with credit card. You can also pay with instant bank transfer. It only takes a couple days if you use e-check; otherwise, it should be instantaneous.
Actually, what I find annoying is that if you have any amount in your Paypal account, you are forced to pay with your balance before using other payment options.

Doesn't matter if they say they accept credit cards or not. If they say in their auction they take paypal, they have to take every form. According to ebay, if they don't they can get their account suspended. Search the help section on ebay, it will explain it more.
I find it real annoying also having to remove all the money first and then pay with credit card. Pay in the a**

No, its if they have the option listed in the payment method section where the pay pal logo image comes up. They can say they take pay pal in the desc but as long as they dont click on the payment options accepted part, then they dont have to take CC.
