I installed the game last week but the color seems slightly off, and the game is too dark even with brightness turned all the way up in the settings menu. Adjusting the gamma on my video card does nothing. Is there a way to get into a .cfg file or something and boost the brightness further?

Not to hijack the thread but I also am having a problem with that game. Whenever I play it on higher resolutions than 640x480 there are lines in the menus that shouldnt be there. Any Ideas?

Hmm, I have that game (it's a very good one!), but I play in Window mode and have no problems whatsoever. Might try that.

I found the solution...
I have my game installed here...
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\American McGee's Alice\
I went into the Base folder and found config.cfg
I opened that in wordpad and found this....
seta sensitivity "14.670732"
seta s_milesdriver "software"
seta r_detailtextures "1"
seta r_texturebits "32"
seta r_colorbits "32"
seta r_gamma "1.5"
seta r_lastValidRenderer "Intel 915G"
seta s_volume "0.8"
seta s_musicvolume "0.5"
seta r_mode "4"
seta name "Player"
seta cl_run "1"
seta cg_cameradist "128.000000"
I changed the 1.5 to a higher number(2.5 to 3 does the trick for me).
I then saved the config file and rebooted the game and I can see now!
If anyone else is having trouble, try this.
