I think I'm going to break up with my Oblivion character...

I'm half way through the main quest... I don't know what happened but suddenly I feel really bored by this game, whereas initially I was inviting my friends into the gamer chair just to roll up a character. I'm about to give up on it. At a certain point, leveling up alongside your enemies, really started to make all of the combat seem very very similar.

One other little gripe... I am a spellcaster and there just aren't very many cool looking spells/effects. I pretty much use the same three offensive spells.

Should I push through this hump?

I did damn near everything there was to do (major stuff anyway), and outside of the thieves guild and dark brotherhood, it just felt like one big fetch quest.

I need this, go here and get it, and kill this guy who has it. Over and over and over.
