View Full Version : Help an indecisive guy find a DS Lite case

I'm shopping around for a case for my DS Lite, but I can't decide on one. However, I've narrowed my choiced down to two:

I'm really looking for something small, compact, and most importantly, something I can fit in my pocket. I was considering the multi-pouch, but I saw some pictures of it and while it holds a ton of stuff, it's too big for me to carry around.
So far the hard case looks like the best deal, since it looks small enough to carry in my pocket and holds a few games. On the other hand the slim pouch would be the smallest option, since it's hardly bigger than the system itself - but it doesn't hold any extra games.
Can anyone give me any personal feedback or experiences you've had with DS Lite cases? Thanks greatly.

I think a lot of CAGers endorse the Pelican case, available at some Radio Shacks for $2.97. I like it, the negative is the DSL can slide around slightly, like 1/4" in each direction. The positive is it's small and comfortably holds the system, AC adapter, and 3 DS games, and you can squeeze in a few more.

I personally highly enjoy the ACL (Nintendo-licensed) play-through case I got at circuit city, but that's not one of your choices. :-) Of your two, I like the first one best, but I'm hesitant to give it my endorsement because it looks vaguely purse-like...

I'll look into it, but the way you mentioned that the DS slides around kind of worries me a bit. I'd prefer if the DS fits snug in a case.

I was starting to consider this one more, but I still can't decide if I want to sacrifice the ability to carry around a few games for a smaller case. The image doesn't bother me though. I appreciate sarcasm, so I have no problems showing off my man purse.

Are you gay? If not, pick the second one. First one looks like a small purse

No, I'm not gay, but not so insecure with my manliness as some people might be. Still, the second one will probably give me to most utility, what with the game slots.

Found a damn near perfect case at Circuit City the other day. It's a "dual folio" something or other and it holds the DS, 9 DS games and 9 GBA games in their own little mesh slots. Manufacturer seems to be "Score" but I think Pelican might have had something to do with it. It's $9.96 at CC.
Mine is all black, but otherwise, looks like this:

Wish I could find a clearer picture of the inside to show how the games look inside, but it's really professional looking. The open "page" on the right holds 3 DS games over 3 GBA games, and the other zipper pocket has two more identical pages for a total of 9 DS and 9 GBA games. The Lite is well protected and the pocket on the far left holds the power pack, headphones, mint can full of games, whatever.
I've had it for about a month, and highly recommend it.
Edit: Might be a bit fat for your pocket!
