I need a computer probably around 500 dollars maybe 600. I want it to be pretty good but I kinda want at least 1gb of memory so I can play games good. I also would like a large screen preferably 19 inch but I'd probably settle for 17 inch. Anyone know of any good deals currently whether online or not or a deal coming up in the month of august? If the price goes a bit higher please post it as well...

You need more than just 1GB of RAM to play games. You'll need an at least decent video card too if you want to play more modern games. For $600 you'll most likely find some mid range computer with integrated video card and a 17" LCD screen. You can look at Fatwallet (http://www.fatwallet.com/c/18) or Slickdeals (http://www.slickdeals.net) and look for computer deals. If you find some deals that applies to you in Canada then you can post back here and we'll tell you whether it's a good deal or not.
Most of us will probably suggest building a computer for $600, which is very possible for a gaming PC. If you're interested in that, we can give you some pointers on it.

Ya! For sure but I also need a new one for college...so I want it to have everything I will need so I can do all my projects and stuff. I don't care TOO much about gaming, but I do like playing the odd game. I have some radeon 9250 i think and it seems to work ok... Could I build a comp for like less than 500? I wouldn't mind if you guys could just tell me the best computer I could build or buy for 500-600 bucks Canadian. That would help alot thanks!

Now that you mention $600 'Canadians', that just about closed a lot of doors to a mild gaming PC w/ monitor. You're missing out on sites like newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com because you don't live in the US. Monarchcomputerc.om seems to the one of the few online computer parts retailers that ships to Canada, but their prices aren't entirely low. Building a decent PC w/ monitor will still be over your $600 Canadian budget. If you don't have experience on building a PC, I would not suggest buying parts and build the system yourself. You should go down to your local Best Buy and see what computers they have on sale that is under your budget. Get a branded computer that has an available PCI-E 16X slot so you can upgrade the video card in the future when you want to play newer games.

Ok cool...my current computer has 256mb and I mean I can play all the games I want to satisfy my enough, like CoD2 and a few other shooters, even though I experience lag in some parts. I mainly just need another computer for the school year since this one is all buggy. I was hoping I could maybe get 1 gig, but I'll see maybe I can convince my parents to make the price higher lol...they don't even know how to use the internet or understand video games at all so they aren't very interested in spending more money to replace the letters mb with gig xD. Thanks Anyways
