I'm using SpeedFan to monitor my temperatures and there are 5 temps shown in all. I've figured out CPU, HD, and mobo fairly easily by comparing temps between ASUS probe but I can't figure out the other 2.
One is -3 to -4 at idle (yes, negative 3 to 4 degrees Celsius) and shoots up to 25C when I'm playing games, which would lead me to believe it's the GPU. But a GPU running at sub-zero temps while at idle? That can't be right.../:-?
The other one is ALWAYS at 40C. I've never seen it go up or down... I was thinking this would be the GPU but then why doesn't it get hotter during gameplay? (even when running HL2 maxed out at 1680x1050).
