Are you kidding me? It looked like total crap before. This video shows some promise now.

well, i never saw a video before just screen shots and hearing about it. I get excited about any new Tony Hawk game. Im not saying it looks bad, it just didnt look as fun i was thinking. im not sure i will like the motion controller, or the characters not being real people. I dont know, im sure i will still buy it. Just that video didnt make me anymore excited that i already was. i was expecting to watch that video and be totally psyched. the video for project 8 (or whatever its called) looked amazing.

Tony Hawk is only attached to this game to sell more units. He's the only professional skater in the game, and actually looks kind of out of place next to the other cartoonish characters.

I thought it looked pretty fun. I suppose, like with most Wii games, the level of fun you'll get out of it depends on the control, but the levels looked pretty neat and it appears to have some depth. I wonder if EA will develop a Wii exclusive SSX after this? Or maybe one exclusively for the PS3/Wii since they both have tilt control?

I played this at E3 and was so disappointed. I mean it's a racing game, that's it. I wanted something more original or at least the same damn game we've had 6 or 7 times before with an original control scheme. (Holding the Wii remote like one of those little Tech Deck skateboards would have been solid) Instead what you get is something like Sonic Riders, unimaginitive and uninspired. Downhill racing couldn't be more boring.

This is exactly the WRONG direction for the Tony Hawk series to be going in... I thought they were getting back on track with American Wasteland and Sk8land on the DS, but whatever... I'm kinda burned out on it by now.

Looks pretty cool to me. It's not a real Tony Hawk title, so I'm not freaking about it.

Well, this isn't really the direction the TH series is going in, it is an offshoot. They are still making more traditional TH games. I agree with you though, even if this does turn out ok, which it could, it is more akin to SSX than TH.
Oops! I did it again.

Looks like a ton of fun, to me. Totally different than the old-style TH games, but that's the point; it's more of an instant rush of fun, I think that'll be cool.

The game looks like it could be a really charming budget title. Hopefully the controls won't suck, but with no force-feedback I'm not too optimistic.

What looks troubling is in the video, the guy just tilted the controller a little (like 30 degrees) and his on-screen character spilled and smashed into a railing.
Something tells me the Wii controller is too sensitive and maybe the tilt thing is not a good idea for this game (or maybe the crappy developer, "Toys For Bob" which made this game, need to tweak it some more)
So far I don't see any advantage of tilt controls over a good and reliable analog stick.

The video = meh, honestly this wasn't a game I was looking forward to.
But what I was paying attention to was the controller. Two questions came to mind: 1) was the guy playing with a dev controller or was the nunchuk attachment plugged in? That controller has a cord coming out of the bottom. 2) When holding the controller sideways like that, when he's starting the single race, he appears to tap some buttons on both the left and the right "shoulders" in the way he's holding his hands. Is this right? Does the Wii controller have shoulder buttons when holding it like this?

1. It's a developer attachment, I believe it's used to attach the remote to the dev GC.
2. That's just the way he was holding the contoller, like it was a Dual Shock. There's no buttons there or holding the normal way would be extremely awkward with buttons where your hand holds the remote (for righties).
If I didn't know this was a Tony Hawk game by Activision, I'd have guessed that it was an SSX-spinoff by the EA Big guys. I'm not really interested in it anyway.

The clarification I needed, thanks.
