Usually, these things are pretty predictable, but I found last week's chart interesting because there was a 52% increase in Xbox 360 sales. The Japanese bought about 1/3rd of the total Xbox 360 sold this year last week alone. And if you combine the last two weeks, those weeks alone account for about 50% of the year to date Xbox 360 sales. Anybody have any idea why the sudden surge in sales happened? (Yes, it is still selling horribly compared to PS2, PSP, and the ridiculous numbers the DS Lite is putting up.)
Edit: Looking at the comments at Joystiq, it looks as though Bullet Witch may be responsible for the sudden surge.
- DS Lite: 176,853 85,600 (-32.62%)
- PSP: 42,604 6,666 (+18.55%)
- PS2: 26,451 4,163 (+18.68%)
- Xbox 360: 2,246 774 (+52.58%)
- GBA SP: 2,229 724 (-24.52%)
- Game Boy Micro: 1,766 356 (+25.25%)
- DS Phat: 1,530 4,814 (-75.88%)
- Gamecube: 1,039 37 (-3.44%)
- Xbox: 11 11 (infinite)
- GBA: 9 11 (-55.00%)
