Music/Video Players

Hey all, I have $300 and no MP3 player. I've been looking at the iPods, but I know that they have a crap battery, only around 50 charges. Are there any music/video players which have at least 1000 charges? That's how many charges my AA batteries have, so I guess that MP3 players should have just as much. I'm looking at the Zen, the iRiver, and the Sony Bean. Are they any good?
