Here's my situation, I need a new case, I have a raidmax mid atx and airflow is bad because I have so many harddrives in it. So I am looking for a Full tower again, mid towers just don't seem to work I had an antec mid tower, sold it because to cramped, before that I had an OLD full tower that was good but old , Spacious and but didn't hold as many harddrives as most modern mid atxs. now I have looked a a few and I really like the thermal Take armor massive cooling and space but front usb ports are on top, thought about the Ultra Aluminus Full tower case, but kinda scared of Ultra brand, but it has the 120mm fans front and back which I like.

What do you guys/gals use and how much do you like it, Remember I want usb in the front, roomy and would like to have 120mm fans, With out spending 200 dollars.

I have this Antec (http://$$$$$$$$$$$$/avvdg)case. I like it. It's pretty roomy and comes with a 500W power supply. I only have two problems with it, one of which I knew of before I bought it. One, it is Heavy. It's a full sized steel server case. Do not get this case if you plan to go to lan parties or move the computer around alot. The other problem is the power on LED. It is a bright blue, that is so bright it can function as a nightlight. I currently have a piece of paper taped over it right now.

If you can deal with those two problems, it is worth it. The case is roomy. It has removeable hard drive cages with a spot for a 80mm fan on each. In front of the hard drive cages, there's a removeable mesh filter for collecting dust. There's a 120mm fan in the back. The power suply is modular. I've really liked this case.

Get the Thermaltake Armor (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811133021)case, best case ever.

Have an black Ultra Aluminus. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1215768&CatId=0

Whatever you get, consider getting a aluminum case. So much better at heat dissipation.

Got an Antec Sonata I, and I love it. It's a bit heavy but I barely move my computer that much anyway, and I have about three 120mm fans in there to keep everything cool. Plus, the hard drive bays slide out easily, and the thing is super quiet. The newer versions look to improve on mine - I highly recommend it.

also with those big ass towers, and if you have a boat load of internal drives.. better find a long ass data cable for those drives because your going to come up short with those standard cables.

I have a small form factor (sff) SN25P. I like having a smaller computer, and it does everything I need it to do, along with an X800XL and A64 3200+. I really have no use for all the extra drive bays.

That is what I have to.
It is pretty good.
My main complaint is that it that the holes spelling out ANTEC on the side draws in a lot dust into the system. Also, the single 120MM that is included is inadequate in cooling the system (at least for me. I know most people don't have 4 internal hard drives & 2 dvd burners mounted on one system). I know you can mount a 2nd fan in front of the hard drives but what about the 3rd one?!?

Hey all, sorry to "hijack" the thread, but I don't know which case to purchase. I want one hard drive, one video card, and once CD+/- RW and DVD reader in there. Just one of each. I may upgrade to two of each later on. Which one should I get, and which fans would go with it? I am getting a Conroe compatible mobo, if that changes anything.

Thanks in advance.

Most ATX cases have multiple HDD bays, 3"/5.25" drive bays, and expansion slots. Most any mid-tower ATX case will have what you need... any of the cases in this thread would be great. If this is your first build, then it might be a bit different.

Umm... yes, it is my first build =/ I will be able to get some help from friends who have built computers before, but otherwise it will be my first time. Should I still go with the ATX mid-tower?

Also, is a full-tower a server? Or is it just an oversized desktop?

If it's your first build, then pick a case that's roomy and has removable HDD and mobo trays- that stuff makes things a bit easier.

I'm not sure about the full tower being a server, but they just have more room for drives and such. They're not as common as mid-towers are really unnecessary in your case (pun! LOLz!).

This is the case I wanted but it was too much for me. And this was also before I decided to go with Aluminum (which dissappates heat better and weights a lot less than steel).

This is another case I looked at, probably the best sub-$50 case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119068

edit: though I looked at the one you linked, too, Vinny. I can't recall what put me off about it, though.

edit 2: Now I remember. The one I linked allowed for 120mm fans in front and back. The other one only allowed for 80mm in the front. I wanted a quieter system if I had to get a second fan.

I covered the holes using a bit of tape and some cardboard, so no problems for me!

The third 120 mm fan is mounted parallel to the second in the front, so they are touching - another way of putting it is that the second and the third work together as one big fan. It's a bit superfluous but I don't mind.

On second thought, I recommend a Maingear Prysma, assuming they sell them on their own. Look at that crazy thing: http://www.maingear.com/images/prysma4.jpg
