Well I'm trying to connect my computer to my router with network cables but Internet won't show up on that computer! I got this one to work with a network card but for some reason nothing pops up on the other to show that internet is trying to activate. Anyone know what I'm doin wrong?

(Oh and also, does anyone know how I can change my moniter to a larger size without making it blurry and less sharp? 1024 x 1028 or w/e is just far too small for me...I'd like around 800 x 600 :cold:)

type in 192.168.1.1 on your internet browser and should take you to a setup page for the router.

Lots of things could be wrong. Did you install the network card properly using drivers that came w/ the card (if XP doesn't recognize it that is). Is the network cable plugged into both ports (PC & router) securely? Is the network cable in good working condition (ie did it work before all this dilemma or is it bought new)? Are you using DHCP or static IP to setup your network? You should follow the network settings of your other PC with the PC you're using now to ensure they have similar/identical network settings. Make sure all the browser options isn't using any proxy server setting. That's all I can think of for now. Check against the questions to eliminate what isn't causing the problem.

As for making your monitor a "larger size." You can increase your resolution and screen DPI and that should do it. If you're using Windows XP goto your display properties then click settings then advanced then under the general tab you'll see DPI setting, change it from 96 to 120 and that should fix it.

Ya basically everything said above is done, it's a new cable...but thing is in my browser I dont know where to enter the numbers ryles gave me. It only says set up connection, then gives me a bunch of junk, tried every one... hmm the network card is on this one, works fine, just the direct link doesn't =/

Oh and its DHCP i think

no thats what your router does. Just open up your internet browser and yes there will not be a connection. Then up at the top where you normally type in "www.cheapasgamer.com type in 192.168.1.1 if that doesn't work try 192.168.0.1

Are you shure you hooked up the router correctly? Is it plugged in?

The cable from your DSL or cable modem should go in the WAN port of the router, this is the one that is slightly separated from the other 4 ports. Your computer should be connected to the router into one of the switch ports that are grouped together in the back of the router.

The other thing that would be helpful is to bring up a DOS window and then run the command

ipconfig /all

And then post all of the output here.
