Could anyone please list like the top 5 packages from this link:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/class.asp?logon=&langid=EN&catid=24013

The one I bought was all screwed up missing many components, so I want a different package. If you could list the top 5 "best buys" it would be great! Thanks.

And also is an NVidia Geforce 6100 a good graphics card?

Oh and also please tell me which of these specs makes a better overall computer: (Both desktops)

Well, it's not really a graphics card per se. It's just the graphics integrated into the system chipset. While leaps and bounds above stuff like Intel's integrated graphics, it's still nothing to write home about. Probably somewhere in the FX5200 range when it comes to speed and quality.

Between the similarily priced Gateway and Compaq, I'd have to lean towards the Gateway being the better of the two.

Gateway is ok... they always use cheap parts and stuff but usually their computers are just as solid as Dells and HPs.

Ok well I'm going out and will probably buy the Compaq there or the Gateway. The Compaq is cheaper as it does come with speakers and a USB cable (I think) But not much cheaper. Which one would you suggest is better? I Think the compaq also has 2 cd drives and the gateway has 1. Heres the links again although they're at the bottom of my first post.

My friend...send me the 800 dollars and I'll buiuld you a computer 2x better than those off newegg...especially since a monitor is not included with those computers. The ram is good, the processor is good, but that is ALL it has going for it... The mobo is going to be company branded and its going to suck, the dvd drive etc can be obtained very cheaply so i wont even include it in determining whether the 899 price tag is worth it for the futureshop pc, but only including one is a horrible deal. BTW i just noticed that these were in canadian prices, so I'm estimating that its roughly half. x2 3800- 150, 2 gb ram, 140, 320 gb hard drive, 110, awesome motherboard, 100, kickass case, 100, 5x better video card (although not saying much), 100, mouse/keyboard, 30, windows xp home, 60, roughly 750 altogether.

The problem with making is I can't really return it if there is problems..l.well not as easily, plus I have to wait awhile for it to build. So you're saying I could save...50 bucks? I'm actually getting a package deal for 1000 with a 19 inch moniter LCD Flat, all in one printer, and speakers come with the compaq but not the gateway...hmm anyway I'll see but my parents really don't like the building idea, they don't understand computers. Anyway which one of those 2 is the best though? Like is a 50 gig harddrive better than a 6150 geforce...ya you see the diff b/w the 2? I want to know for this deal and future buys

Thats just the pc there because they dotn show specs in the package options. So ya...if you guys could just tell me which one is better there it would be great....I'd love to build but I just don;t see it happening lol

well...you save 50 bucks plus you get a machine that performs twice as well...essentially saving **850 bucks, if using the value of the pc in the post as the starting value, but if youd rather go for prebuilt id pick the one from best buy

ah true I gues...asked my parents again and they said no though =/ Hmm...so why is the best buy one better though even though the gateway has 50 gig more HD and I think a better processor too...3800 or something. Best buy one has the better graphics card though and maybe ghz thing? I dunno...could you explain why the best buy compaq is better or what makes it better?

I was assuming you were using this for gaming, which prolly isnt the case since you are using the dedicated video card. The Compaq computer comes with a better gaming video card and processor. The 3700 single core works better than the x2 3800 dual core becuase games dont utilize both cores. But in everyday use, the x2 3800 will greatly outperform the 3700. The compaq is also cheater lol. But if your just using it for everyday use, the Gateway will have more hard drive space, and a faster processor. Plus you get an extra firewire port and PCI slot. Both wouldnt perform very well in todays games, so I'm switching sides, and saying go for the Gateway.

Well basically I want to be able to use it for awhile during college, and also play games when I have spare time. So really I think both probably have enough memory? So I probably want the better game machine. Both packages are equal price too...I got some cheap video card I use, but I really don't mind. I'm pretty sure both of those would perform way better than the one I'm using, 256 MB HP, 60 GB, 1.8 GHZ, and I bought a radeon awhile ago 2250 or something....and I actually can play many of the games I enjoy playing decently....usually. Anyway what I'm looking for is the computer that will last longer, play games faster and with better graphics, and also start up faster/access files faster and not be sluggish like my current one.
