has anyone played max payne 2 yet? I loved the first one except for all of the twisted evil stuff that was going on. Any twisted stuff in the 2nd one?

Its more twisted than the first one, I can't wait for mods to come out. The game simply kicks ass. Got it from BB for $30+tax because of the Gamer gift card.

It's good only if you liked the first one. It is really short and it's graphics are the best thing going for it imo.

you have to be really old school to understand this:
"Anything by the Future Crew can't be bad"
(random quote from assembly '93, it's been a decade, I can't place the exact speaker)
Remedy is made up of a large number of ex-FC'ers, including SKAVEN and Purple Motion. They were my heroes back in the day....well not really, but it sounded good.

This site says the game is 6 hours long and not worth $50. I agree that any game that is 6 hours long is not worth $50

Metacritic gave it a score of 91

Ok, let me quantify this a bit better. Yes, it's terribly short, but it's definitely worth the money. There are several difficulty levels, and like the previous Max Payne there are other levels you're going to want to play over and over again.
And, on the rare occassions like this, you're not just playing for the game play (which is *excellent*), but for the story. The comic-book storybooks are still top-notch, if not better, and keep you deeply immersed in what can only be descriped as "epic noir". You get caught up in the story of the Fall (and Rise, of a sort) of Max Payne. It is a fine peice of fiction as well as a fine action title.
Normally I wouldn't stick my neck out for a game. MP2's bullet 2.0 isn't jaw-dropping, but it's still fun. The general 'feel' for the game can be mastered after a bit, because honestly if you played the first Max Payne it's like riding a bike.
But like I said, if you're not into story, then maybe it's not for you yet. But I genuinely was taken for a ride. Illusion. Fear. Doubt. Suspicion. Love. Lust. Hate. Friends turned to enemies and foes turned to allies. The world around you changes, and you never really realize it until it's too late. Max Payne 2's story is all of these things. For in the end, the only person you can trust is yourself, and the only thing you can have faith in is the power and integrity of your own conscience.
If you want to play an unappologetic neo-noir action thriller, with a storyline that's cheezy but will grip you, and gameplay that'll keep you plastered to the wall dodging bullets and ripping off rounds in a hail of shell casings, get Max Payne 2. 50 bucks may be a bit high, so wait if you want, but whatever price is money well spent.

35 bucks isn't bad. Buy it, beat it, then sell it on eBay.
6 hours is pretty short IMHO. But that's about three times longer than your typical Hollywood movie, and look how much you spend on a nonplayable Hollywood movie DVD. If MP2 were only as long as its predecessor, I would have picked it up in a heartbeat and kept it...

Granted, I'm awaiting the XBox version (I know, but I would much rather play it on a huge screen, rather than my monitor), but I'd plunk down 35 on it in a heartbeat.
I can think of quite a number of games that were worth the $40-$50 that were very "short", granted most of them are music games ;)
From what I know, the story was nowhere near as strong as the original, but still decent as far as game stories go, and with the multiple difficulties, it should hold a bit of replay value.
And no one mentioned no time wasting mazes in MP2!!!! Those added lots of time to the MP1 clock.

I will never buy a 6 hour game ever. It is pure laziness on the developers part and I will not support a dev's half ass'd game especially when they want to charge you $50!!!
GT4's demo disk has more content than Max2 full version.

the demo is awesome. I will wait though until I get my new graphics card and finish Max Payne(I have the Xbox version but just got the PC version and want to play it through 2 or three times and play with some of the mods)

Max Payne 2 is great -- I have it for PC.
Opened it for X-Mas.
My dad bought it back at EB for $20 on EB's Black Friday special.
That and GTA:VC for $10.

Like many of the others have mentioned...
Max Payne 2 is fun, actually it's a great game. However its not worth buying as most gamers of any skill should finish the game quickly.
Rent do not buy

I bought this game the first day it came out and dont regret it one bit.
The graphics are the best I have seen in any game EVER! The rag doll fixes are jaw-dropping just like the bullet time and "fatality" moves, Just buy it to see what i'm talking about.

IF you saw MP2's graphics on the PC, you'd know why it's 2 CD's.
Plus, all the game is loaded with details, details, details.
What a PC game -- that Black Friday special rocked that EB had, having MP2 for $20 back last November.
