my laptop has this remote control sensor on it that picks up the 360 remote. so when I hit power on my 360, the laptop goes into hibernation. really annoying!
I like to keep it on, since it supplies my Xbox live connection.
anyone know how to turn the sensor off? I have an HP Pavillion ZV6270. Can't find anything in system settings or anything like that. Thanks for any help.
Have you tried to remove hardware from the device manager?
Edit or updating the driver?

I know that with my Dell Inspiron 9100 the remote sensor can be turned off in the BIOS. Look there would be my suggestion.

I'll try that out, thanks!
I don't know how to mess with the BIOS (is that like editing a .ini file?) and couldn't find it in the device manager.

Usually you have to push some button like space bar, delete, or one of the F-keys on startup before windows comes on and this brings you to the BIOS. BIOS is basically the firmware of your computer and controls all the "stuff" that's inside it.
