There was an episode of the orginal transformer series where a moon/asteroid/meteor was falling out of space and going to hit Earth.. destroying all life, both human and Transformer. Because of this, Megatron joined forces with Optimus Prime, and transformed into gun mode while Optimus Prime aimed and fired at the space rock, destroying it.

The energon ax was used during his battle with Megatron on top of the dam at the climax of the "More then Meets the Eyes" miniseries that started off the cartoon.

(Yes, I'm one of the fools who bought this Prime at full price, and has the entire series on DVD, and multiple copies of the Movie.)

I have been looking for one for a while now. I found 3 at a local gamestop for 59.99 which is their markdown price from 99.99

I decided to buy one , because if I do buy one for a little less on ebay , the shipping will make the price be around 60.00 anyways. it really is a great looking figure. Nice and heavy. I wish I could bring myself to open it.

I checked out two Targets in my area, and no luck. I didn't even see a clearance section. :( Can't say I'm surprised, though...too good to be true.

Yeah, don't expect this one to still be around...if you find it, you've used up your ration of luck for the rest of eternity. :P I got one at the clearance price just above that, and that was only because I've got an inside source at my local Target. Once they went half-price, they were GONE.

There will never be a reissue of Jetfire because his design is the Robotech Valkyrie. They will name new robots Jetfire (as was done in both TF: Energon and TS: RiD, IIRC), but that old mould can't be used for legal reasons.

Technically, there already has been. They rereleased it among the other Robotech and Macross Valks. At the same time, a couple of industrious people made repro labels of the orginal Jetfire.

What about a detachable trailer? I remember this one that I had when I was 6 came with a detachable trailer and a voice box that went "I am Optimus Prime." I hope my Target still has some left.
