What do I do? I was thinking of just selling them all of, and buying them again. Any suggestions or techniquest to get rid of them? Now when a game is scrathced sometimes it skips or pauses, if I get it resurfaced, will it fix that? Or will that part of the game be forever lost?

depends on how deep the scratch is. Gamecrazy offers 5 resurfaces for 5 bucks. Thats what I use. Fixed many of my games.

Hmm sounds good. There not deep, just a bunch of light ones everywhere.

lots of tiny, light scratches are simply what happens to games that get played. I personally dont mind small scratches as long as the game loads and plays fine.

What can you do? Ive bought games new, and was very careful with them, never dropped them, never placed them surface down anywhere, etc... but simply the act of taking them in and out of the console and case puts small scratches on them.

Only on the ps2, not the gamecube. With the ps2 it always feels like there getting scratched when trying to get them out.

yeah I was thinking of the PS2 when I wrote that. Gamecube discs are soo small they pop in and out really easy. Although sometimes they can be a pain to get out of the case!

Yes but whats weird is the fact that its my gamecube discs that are bad condition, all my ps2 games are flawless. But its painful to look at them, so many marks.

Even the GameCube games that I buy used are usually in good condition. I can't say the same for Xbox and PS2 games.

For some reason I've noticed that my GC discs have small scratches on the very edge of the discs of the system. My cousins have the same thing. Can anyone explain this?

Bad handling? When you take them out the cases there is a small chance of scratching them...or worse, I snapped my eternal darkness game in half trying to get it out.

The only way to prevent a PS2 from scrathing discs is the slim model with the flip top. I experienced alot less disc problems when I replaced my Fat PS2 with a slim.

Umm I was thinking quite the opposite, VAD3R. I would think the tray would be safer, as I come so close to scratching the disc taken it out.

I used to have the old fat PS2. Alot of my games came out scracthed after they came out of the tray. After the fat PS2 died I had a slim and a new copy of guiatar hero. There is only about 1 or 2 small scrathes on it.

I played my copy of THPS3 to hell and back and its still in mint condition (except for dust) and I own a normal fat PS2 (which is far superior imo).

Fat PS2 > Slim PS2 regarding disc safety, placing it in/out of a spindle creates more potential for scratching.

So, anyone have experience using them disk cleaners that cost like $80 or somewhere around that price? Do they work or just break your games more?

Honestly, I rarely worry about how the CD looks as long as it will play. So, the CD repair "paste" that they sell for $1 (at $1 stores)-$10 (at Kmart or CVS) seems to work great. I have had many games that wouldn't play well (or at all) that worked flawlessly after that.

If that doesn't work, the resurfacing at Gamecrazy's seems to do the trick (I bought a used game there that the paste wouldn't work, so I made them clean it, no issues now).

So, I would go that route over the $80 options.

This paste, is it just like a spray and then I wipe it and the scratches are gone?
