I was over at a mall near my doctor's office today and I saw about 2-3 actual coin ups with a price range between 150-500 bucks. They weren't anything new , mostly some fighter games from the 90's , the most expensive one was a baseball game made by sega that looked pretty good. I was so tempted to buy one of the cheaper ones but one, but I would want the machine disinfected (its been in a mall for years, you know how many kids with there dirty hands were touching the controllers?) and second.. would a standard cabinet machine actually FIT into the back of a 1997 Honda CRV? The mall is about 45 minutes from my house and I haven't been to that mall in 4 years so I don't plan to go back unless I need to.

BTW anyone have one of these (any kind) and could tell me how much power they suck up from a normal house? Meaning if my power bill going to shoot up threw the roof?

If it is good shape, go for it.

I have several arcade machines. If it's a regular standup cabinet I'd say you're better off trying to tote it in a pick-up truck.

The power used varies for arcade machines... Anywhere between 150-250 for the older ones. Just unplug em when you're not using em.

i picked 1 up 6 hours away in a jeep cherokee, and another 5 hours away in a hyundai santa fe.... just have to leave the back open a bit, and tied down.

Yeah, you can definitely put it in there, my friend uses a ford escort wagon to tote around arcade games. You just have to lie it on its back and strap it in. And realize its cool to have one, but only buy one if you really like the game, otherwise you now have a couple hundred dollar block of wood that takes up a lot of space.

yea this might be more trouble just to move it around then to buy it.. I have the feeling that the employees will take the money and not do squat to help me move it to my car. Plus a cop might pull me over and write me up for some shit saying i'm endangering other motorists with that machine sticking out of my car.

Find a buddy with a pick up truck and offer to buy him/her a 6 pack.

Graystones law # 1 of moving heavy objects
A 6 pack of beer will get you one buddy to move an object
A 12 pack will get you two friends to move a few heavy objects.
A 30 pack will get you 4 friends to move you from place to place
A Keg will get many many people coming and going through out the day helping you move many objects.

#2 The person that brings a truck is the VIP and gets more beer then anyone else.
