Tons. GAIM, Miranda (like previous OP), AIMutation (discontinued but still around), DeadAIM (discontinued I think also), Messenger:Mate AIM, middle_man, PalFun (also discontinued lol), AIM+.

Thanks, because trillian kept fucking up for me, and I just got tired of it. I think I'll try out GAIM first.

I had no idea all those programs existed. I unstalled Trillian a long time ago because it wasn't reliable. I've been out of touch ever since.....

It isn't, I've been planning to make one too. Just got a ton of free comics. I'll probably tell the story on the weekend or something if the topic is still alive. I'm so deprived of sleep =/ Going from around 14 hours of sleep a day to 7 is not fun.

If you have a smaller screen, or just like minimilistic themes to keep your work space bigger, Gaim or miranda are your best bet. Miranda comes barebones and Gaim is very customizable, with no window size limit, you can set default fonts for asses that use size 16 colored font, tabbed chats, etc. Plus, no ads/unnecessary buttons in the chat window. And, of course, aliases.
