Wow all my orders have tracking numbers in all the different accounts. I have a memory foam pillow shipping Fedex Express for $1, everything else is USPS. So I ordered Gran Turismo 4, God of War, and Katamari Damacy for a grand total of about $7 shipped. I also ordered a textbook I needed for school for about $5 after $20 off. I wish I had ordered another 360 controller, they'll never be that cheap anywhere else. Deal of the year once this stuff is in my hands, thanks OP!

also i'm surprised all these orders are going through. months ago newegg.com had a $25 off coupon. it was only for 1 time use but somehow CAG and other sites got the code. Different product types are likely sourced from different places/warehouses; it appears that DVD orders and 'stuff' orders move a little faster than game orders.

fatcash: I use Ebates and Mypoints, but these coupons don't usually work with those, and I'd rather get 20 bucks off than 2% back three months from now.

My copy of Rub Rabbits shipped via UPS Mail Innovations. It must have literally shipped just now because I was checking all my games every hour. 1 down, 4 to go. To be honest, I kind of expected Rub Rabbits to go through because its not one of the more "popular" DS games. From my experience [admittedly very limited], it's the other way around. Because it's a preorder, they have until then to review and cancel the order, whereas for in-stock items, their turnaround time is rather good [24 hours from order placement to order shipped--my last order from Amazon took a week to get shipped].
They catch the mistake, then say, Hey, wait a minute, and try to review orders. All these orders have already shipped, so what are they going to do?

Holy crap my two orders shipped! Damit, I knew I should of made like 5 different email accounts for such a situation as this. Anyway, I don't think time of purchase has anything to do whether or not you get your order cancelled. BTW you didn't need any "real" email accounts. I just made fake ones that I would remember easily so I would know what to input when looking up the status of my order. And they all still shipped because I think the email is only for confirmation and thats it. Hmmm... My Destroy All Humans is still "In Process". I have 2 games "In Process" (DAH and God of War). But I did get a DVD shipped, so at least there will be something! All of mine were for $1.40, as I never could get the $15 coupon to work.

Well, the $15 off coupon died alot earlier than the $20 one did. I used a $20 one on a preorder and it worked just fine, got Valkyrie Profile 2 for $19.89 total. This is what shipped for me -

Pretty high, if they are letting $1.40 games ship out, I don't think a $20 preordered game is going to set off any of their alarms.

If they don't catch it now they won't catch it two months from now when they've forgotten all about this.

I don't want to dig through the pages, but credit was originally given to CAG for the deal. FW has a much larger user base than ours, thus the deal is further exposed. Whereas maybe 8,000 CAGs could take advantage of it, the FW hoarde may have had 80,000.

However, a mod edited the credit post to remove credit to the OP here, and added some comment of "site that nobody cares about" or something (I don't recall the exact words). That's what mainly kind of urks me about it. At least with deal posts between CAG and Slickdeals, credit is almost always given.. FW blatantly ripped it, and their moderators removed credit for it and took advantage of it.

Yea, I didn't know about all of that other stuff... I just always see a deal pop up and then people get pissed when the deal gets "leaked" and go off and blame everyone else when the deal died, but the original complainer probably grabbed 15 games. Not to say you or Skylander did that, just making a comment in general.

But yea, removing the credit is a shitty move, I wasn't aware they did that.

Yeah FW can go fuck themselves. I use to look around there a few years back, but not anymore. The deal was also mentioned on DVDtalk, (where I also post) whom we seem to be ok with, when it comes to Speedy's ads. Credit wasnt given in the first post, so i happened to mention it in a post. But most of them missed it anyway, by the time it was posted.

Anyway, my $9 PGR3 has shipped. That was my only order, and Im happy.

I don't think CAG is as dangerous to deals as fatwallet is just by numbers. If you read the fatwallet thread lots of people are posting about placing 20 plus orders each. Theres even one guy who said he placed over 100 orders, but I'm guessing that was a joke.
Sure there are a lot of lurkers here, but I highly doubt that the 4 to 8 orders that most people are reporting placing here even compare to the orders that went on by the users of FW.

Theres also the question of unique views as opposed top those who come back for repeated viewings of the thread to see the progress, like myself. Is it really 15000 unique people viewing it? or is it a few hundred just checking this thread over and over? I was always curious about how this site counts views on a post.

All my orders were cancelled. I called and asked why that was. The CSR said it was a glitch and some information was lost. She placed the order for me again and gave me 10 dollars off and 10 dollars in credit. That was for the 20 dollars off order. The 15 dollar off order she said that she could not give me the discount again.

Called again and got another CSR and asked about another order on a different email and she told me the same thing, however she gave me the complete 20 dollar discount.

USPS tracking is just that bad. It probably won't even have any updates by the time your items are actually in your hands. A memory foam pillow I ordered is shipping by Fedex Express though and their tracking is great, gives me the estimated delivery and weight of the package.

Like everyone said they take time to update. USPS is really slow with updating their tracking my number just changed from No Record of this item to they have been notified of tracking number. You are right it doesnt necessarily mean they have actually been picked up yet but they are in shipping waiting for the carrier to pick it up the day that overstock says it has been shipped is the day the carrier will pick it up. There is no chance they would be recalled now.

Until the morning after a DC is in the system, it'll show up as "No Record". The next morning, it'll show up as a valid DC, though most likely just as a "Electronic Shipping Information Received" message. Once it starts its progress, the USPS is supposed to scan it as it routes through the different shipping locales. It's supposed to be origin scanned when it leaves the local distribution facility for the sending location, origin scanned when it arrives at the local distribution facility for the receiving locale, and when it's delivered. Doesn't always happen that way, though.

In some cases it's easier/cheaper [if slower] to ship everything to a couple centralized sorting hubs, then out from there, than directly from point A to point B.

For those who complain about the tracking, you have to understand that USPS tracking is almost usless. Like others have already stated, you'll sometimes get an update on the tracking "days" after I recive the item. That happens to a lot of people I ship stuff to.

In most cases, the "tracking" that the USPS offers isn't really tracking at all, it's "Delivery Confirmation." It doesn't give a step-by-step summary the way UPS does, it just lets you know when it's delivered. In a lot of cases, such as when you use the after-hours APC at the post office or buy your shipping labels online, it's not even initially put into the USPS system (I'm guessing that's the case with Overstock as well, as they would do all that in their own shipping facilities). It sucks, and it's more a service for the shipper than the receiver.

I think all preorders are fucked. But the other 2 games I ordered have already shipped by UPS Mail Innovations.

Edit 2: I think I figured it out... that email was only in reference to the $15 coupon. No mention of the $20 coupon anyway, which may or may not mean they caught on to that one. We shall see. Luckily the only item I ordered with that coupon already shipped.

though i havent received an email for the two orders that were not pre-orders (one using $15, one using $20) and still 'shipped' with tracking but no update

Um, I used a 15 dollar coupon on a preorder and I haven't received anything in my email for it. My PSP game is also almost at my house. It seems random to me.

Well all 5 of my DS games shipped and are on their way. They shipped from NJ and are somewhere on Long Island. I live in NYC. I think all the pre-orders are fucked BADLY. Which sucks for everyone who pre-ordered. I regretted not pre-ordering any games but during the time of the glitch, I rationalized that I should not waste any time and only get the in-stock DS games.
