So, how do you feel about different-race marriage? I remember the church being against that, too, even after they changed their minds about slavery.
Should people have the right to marry people of a different race?

I am against opposite sex marriage, especially since 50% of them lead to divorce. That is something the American family doesnt need.

Y'know that you're just another nobody CAG, right OP? That you're of no power and no stature, just like everybody else here, right?
I'm not sharing my opinion on gay anything in here. What I will share my opinion on is your trying to keep opinions out of a thread with the title "free anti-gay literature." I understand that you probably just want to keep a thread for free stuff free of clutter, and that being a cheap-ass goes beyond ethics. Well, that isn't the case for me.
I really wanted to start a thread asking for people to help me find white-power cds and literature; I also know that such a thread would be closed immediately and that I may face being banned, all for what? Trying to prove a point to one CAG? Nah, I'd rather not.
The fact of the matter is this: A thread asking for white-power stuff is no less hateful than anything anti-gay, and your post offends me (to be clear: your thread, not you). I don't care for double-standards at all, and I consider hate groups of any kind equally despicable.
Don't take me for a Christian hater either. I've seen plenty of bibles offered for free, and listed in these forums. (I'm sure it's not a controversal statement to say that free bibles are easy to come by on the internet.) I don't mind if that's posted; I don't mind if free candy bars are offered, even if they're no good for the consumer. I want to draw the line, however, when you're providing others with an avenue in which a hate group such as Focus on the Family.
Taking a glance at their website, it's quite clear that they are not a Christian organization vested in the positive message of love in Christ, but, rather, focusing on reifying the boundaries between "us" and "them." The anecdotal posts on here from those suggesting that people and/or their parents believe that non-FotF supporters are hellbound certainly speaks to the kinds of messages of love that they promote.
You're giving dozens, if not more, addresses and contact information to FotF. Even if they decide not to send out all these items to you, they still have your contact information to solicit money for illicit purposes, or to send you other hateful so-called "Christian" material. To call this "free" is defrauding those who would sign up for it, as if FotF is merely a charitable organization who thrives on being Christ-like and giving things away. The opposite, in fact, is true.
But, in the end, I will continue to argue in the free stuff thread. This post is merely directed at you. I will gladly stand in the way and do what I can to distract people from free things when it comes from a group such as Focus on the Family.

Right.
Almost none of them still do; what used to be "immoral" and "against god" is now just peachy, since society at large recognizes racial equality and the chruch had to change its mind before too many people realized their message was one of hate.
A few of links for you (google "interracial marriage"+church for more):

BTW: In south carolina, interracial marriage was still illegal six years ago.

Mykevermin, please don't try to guess what my views are, based on a Free Stuff post I make, especially without reading it carefully. I, personally, am in favour of same-sex marriages. Really, homosexuality isn't all that different from heterosexuality, and I have alot of gay friends. If you read the article I linked to in the first post of that thread, it's written in the "Here's how to knock a blow against a bigoted orginization, by getting free stuff, at their expense."
It also makes it clear that there is a risk of bieng put on a mailing list, although that's true with most "free stuff" offers, where-in you give your address. As with most free stuff offers, that one is for people who are willing to have another piece of crap to toss in the recycling, whenever they get their mail, in exchange for stuff.

Except that gay people are not of a different species, and generally those don't involve incest.
I have absolutely no problem with Gay Marriage. For God SAKES, I can't stand it when people say 'BUT THE BIBLE SAYS ONLY A MAN AND A WOMAN CAN MARRY!". That's crazy...
Marraige is not only in Christianity. So what if someone doesn't believe in the Bible? Why do they have to follow its rules?
And even if people are right, and it is a sin or whatever, go ahead and let the gays marry. If you're right, they'll go to hell, and it STILL doesn't affect you a bit!
So if we have to follow the rules of things that don't apply to us (such as non-Christians having who they can and cannot marry being determined by a book they do not believe in), then I'm going to start driving on the left side of the road.

Have you read any of the posts here? None of them are serious, nothing said in this thread is serious and if they are they are the crazy ones.
And some Catholics really do think gay marriage will lead people marrying dophins, and their pet dogs and then it will go to marrying little kids (just what the priests want) and all this will lead TO THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!
And I'm sorry that I'm on the side of safety. If someone breaks into my house I have the right to shot him, he or she doesn't have any fucking right to sue me because I did or because they tripped and fell.
And women really do love me. All women love gay guys, that's why straight guys act gay around women.

The thing is, freedom of religion is something most people (at least most americans) don't believe in. As soon as you get a critical mass of believers in one particular religion, they'll start acting like they own the place, even ignoring the constitution in countries that have one. That even goes for presidents and governors and whatnot.
And the concept of "sin" is completely ridiculous - if nobody's hurt by something, it's fine. That's all there is to it. It's just that the church needs leverage - otherwise it wouldn't be necessary.

Actually suicide is one of the worst sins you can commit. And I don't know of any christian faith that believes that just because someone is gay that they are going to hell. Being gay isn't a sin, doing gay acts is.
I don't know what to think about gay marriage. Personally I'm against it, but churches can refuse to marry people for any reason. Which is good because it's not a holy union. If it were to come back on the ballot again I still might vote against it though.

It's a difficult question for me, as it is for many other people. Abortion is another hot topic (but a lot easier to answer for me). No matter what the law says, one side is going to be upset. I'm an open-minded person, but I'm also a religious person, and I sometimes feel conflicted on some issues.
I don't think those analogies you give should be in the same boat as gay marriage, and I think of marriage in the highest regard, I don't take it for granted at all.

It's one thing for churches and religions to decline gay marriage, but you can't bring religion into law (or not supposed to, but really, who follows that nowadays?). By saying gays can't have marriage, but the states grants it, is pretty much forcing your beliefs on them. Really, it for them to have the same legal rights as straight married couples do.
Now, after that, I don't see why you still say no to gay marriage.

Actually, it probably would. Alot of marriages happen because a girl gets pregnant, and they don't know what else to do. With homosexual couples, there's no accidental marriages, and really no reason for them to marry, besides love.

I have a question here I think may become a court case. We all know Massachusetts is ok with Gay Marriage but don't you also have to be a resident of the state for so many years? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if a guy has been a resident of Boston for so many years then brings someone from overseas and marries them there would that fall under the marriage brings citizenship or would they try to debate it and bring it to the Supreme Court?
David85
09-09-2006, 11:24 AM
Massachuseets is not ok with gay marriage, half the state is, half the stae isn't.
And the laws aren't followed. There was a 1913 law saying that people from other states can't marry in MA if their home state won't honor the marriage. That law was ignored for 30 years until the gay marriage case came up and asshole Tom fucking shit O'Reilly said "We have to follow the law", except he didn't for years before that. And a spokeswoman for him said that "He has a long history of supporting gay rights", yeah the long history in his fucking head. He's against gay marriage. What an asshole.
Anyways you can get married in the state if you can prove you live here, or go to a town that supports gay marriage and just say you are planning to live here, they will let you marry.
And in MA 7 gay couples sued the state, one of them, the main one, is getting a divorce.
Sarang01
09-09-2006, 11:35 AM
Then where does the marriage and citizenship bit stand if someone is a MA resident? Would it hold up?
David85
09-09-2006, 12:57 PM
What?
If you are a resident of MA then the marriage is offical, if you aren't then you can't get married. People have already fought about this and the shity law is holding. You have to be a MA resident to get married, if you are there is some grey area.
