August 24, 2006 - According to reports at 1UP.com (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153114) an unnamed Ubisoft Montreal Developer has said that upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive Assassin's Creed (http://ps3.ign.com/objects/772/772025.html) will have a demo before it hits stores.
Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure title set in the Holy Land during the Third Crusade. Some would describe it as part Prince of Persia and part Splinter Cell, which isn't surprising since it is being developed by the studio that gave life to those series. This hot new IP has been rumored to be straying to Xbox 360 and PC as well, but so far remains true and faithful to PS3. Sony has previously stated that PS3 will provide downloadable content and online services will be free (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/712/712184p1.html).
IGN has contacted Sony and Ubisoft, but they have not returned calls for comment at this time.

According to what you posted, it's still only a rumor that it is PS3 exclusive. So nothings 4 REAL yet.

I think anyone who thinks this game will stay a PS3 exclusive is crazy.
It might be at first, but it WILL eventually be released on the 360, financially Ubisoft would be crazy to not put it on the 360.

Ubisoft puts everything they publish ever on every single platform they can.
Hell, they made a freaking PC version of Beyond Good and Evil. And then a PC version of Grandia 2.

Let's just say for fuck's sake that it will be an exclusive. While the game looks pretty good...what else do we know about the game? Good AI..ok cool. Has anyone played it? Will it be any good? It's amazing how much weight people put on unreleased games that have yet to prove themselves worthwhile. So basically everyone is once again blinded by the graphics. Even if its amazing it still isn't getting me to spend $600 on a console.

I was in the closed door demo at E3, right after Spielberg, and it was amazing. Truly a next-gen title, from the graphics and gameplay to the interactive environments, Assassin's Creed won't dissappoint. There are somem great surprises instore for people but the folks who had the demo can't say just yet, but the story is shaping up very nicely. However, I can also tell you I was told, just like the press release says, that it is in development for "next-generation consoles." Nowhere does it say it is an exclusive.

Yup full auto 2 will also feature EXCLUSIVE CONTENT! Cobra Commander and YUP Serpentor! Serpentor of course will be on his bad ass flying cart of death in full gear...Cobra comander will be in his pimped out in his special edition Snakes in Car red viper. Look for it this winter...on PS3 only of course....lol .

I never said the game wouldn't be good...I believe it will be but it seems like a cheap tactic to promote the PS3. If everyone was playing it now and it wasn't on the 360 it would be fair game. As for great surprises...maybe assassin's creed is really the next story for prince of persia? Prince of Persia: Assassin's Creed?

I concur, especially since 360 is already on the market and Ubisoft wouldn't be dumb enough to place one of their next big franchises on one console. Can we all say Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia.

He said that Ubisoft ports games to every platform available, then you said Red Steel to give an example to a game thats exclusive. He said thats not helping your arguement, because even if Ubisoft wanted to port Red Steel they couldn't because it relies on the Wiimote.

Just because Crysis isn't planned for the next gen consoles right now doesn't mean it wont happen. Companes change their minds all the time.
With Red Steel, it seems like Nintendo has been working closely with Ubisoft on the game, which is why it wont be coming out for the other systems.

I swear there was a thread stating that AC is NOT exclusive and that an article in OXM revealed that it was slated for a 360 release.
I swear the game also listed as a release for the 360 on the official ubisoft page before E3.
As for the Crysis thing, the latest EGM rumor mill stated that next-gen platforms will be getting some Crysis loving, in the form of a game based in the Crysis world, but in a side story.
I also agree with people saying that the fanboys need to give it up. Why can't you just be happy that others can enjoy the game along with you?

Right now, Ubisoft has CONFIRMED that Assassins Creed will be on the PS3 sometime in 2007 (early likely) and that the game will also be seen on the PC in the future, likely mid to late 2007. But still no word officially from Ubisoft on a 360 version. My guess is that its a timed exclusive, which is perfect for Sony because they get the game first, they get to hype it, and its a 'killer app' for the PS3 for a little while.

It was either 1up or oxm recent podcast, but they were talking about how sony was not happy with the leaked port of assasins creed to the 360. It is most likely a timed exclusive.

Saw on the AOTS ticker that this is not exclusive to PS3 and will be on PC. Also Ubi Soft has still neither denied or confirmed this coming to the 360. I know AOTS is not very reliable, but I'm pretty sure their is some info to back this... just google already:-P

Also, gamespot reports that the PS3 and 360 versions will be available in stores on the same day?? I'm not quite sure what to make of it. The headline says so, but the article mentions nothing of it.

Good, now I can officially say that the PS3 will suck and have no good exclusives. I wanted to play this game but I would never buy a PS3 to do so. But now I don't have to.
