I've been playing a lot of Dead Rising, and every once in a while I get a message saying that the disc is unreadable. My firend thought that the console might be scratching the disc, but I saw no scratches. If anybody knows, how bad do the broken 360's scratch the discs? Because I shined a flashlight on my disc and there are light scratches on the bottom.
I'm still under warrenty, so I'll sooner take the console back and get a new one then pay to ship it to Microsoft. I'll lose all my game data though.

Light scratches can't make it unreadable. The disc is unreadable error is fairly common with Dead Rising. I wouldn't worry about it being the system or anything else, I think it's just the game.. not the disc, but the way the game was pressed or something.

discs in general work fine with light scratches. My Tekken 3 cd has a million light scratches on it, but works perfect...

That's definetly what it is then, because its almost like the game is on a timer to mess up. The time in between the disc errors is almost always exactly the same.

I know discs are discs, but why would you bring up a PS2 disc when the OP mentioned 360.

My copy started to do that. Returned it and got another one.
