Many a CAG enjoyed the labor of eating grotesquely unhealthy food last October/November. Why?
Best Buy Bucks.
My question is this: will we see the Best Buy Bucks again this fall?
My stomach's hurting just thinking about it, but my heart is saying "YES!"

Last time they cut me off after using $10 worth. What the hell BB? I cut about 30 years off my life for a "free" copy of REmake and I didn't get it all paid off.

That's a shame!
They were very good to me last year, but then again...it could have all been a dream I had while unconscious from too many fries.

Last year BB gave me a hard time about buying games with them. It took me two days and phone calls to both customer service and the manager to get my my copy of "the warriors." And even after the manager acknowledged they misread the rules they didn't inform any of the cashiers or anyone at the customer service desk.

Yeah, between people abusing them instore and online (or both!...double dipping was a great side-effect), I'd be surprised if there isn't some serious tightening in how we can use them this year if they do in fact come back.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I fucking hate BBB. I hope that they make the rules more understandable and concrete than they did last year. They only let me use $9 in store, saying that I could only use three coupons.
Also, everytime I called the BBB hotline, they hung up! What fucking assholes.

FYI
http://chiefmarketer.com/cm_plus/bigmac_million/
. . . This year, while Best Buy isn't a headlining participant, they are participating in the guaranteed win portion of the game and offering a $5 Best Buy Buck.
CM PLUS: When will this year's Monopoly game start? Anything different planned for 2006?
HESS: It launches on October 3. McDonald's is taking the lead this year instead of sharing the spotlight with Best Buy. I can't share too much yet, but you'll see what we've done is very research driven. It's based on offering money and cash and wealth, versus prizes.

Ah, the online/B&M double dip was awesome. There's nothing like picking up a stack of movies from an online order, then using the same bucks in the store on the same trip.

i know a few managers and was one of the first to report over on Fatwallet (though noone belived it) that best buy wouldnt be a major part this year. (said it back in March)
They cant give major details yet but what im hearing is
The online part might not be back this year (where you played the game online) most of the BBB will be 1 buck once again (best buy complain too much about people abusing the coupons last year)
Coupons was not allowed towards video game hardwere but the online system allowed the 3 buck tickets to be used towards anything giving people a free Gamecube system.
all i heard so far is most people will be let down big time this year, and mcdonalds will be looking for a new sponcer next year

If Best Buy bucks are used again, I really hope the management gives stores a complete understanding of how you can redeem the bucks in store. It was ridiculous last year what some people had to do, to be able to use them on game software.
I ran into the same problem but since it was a PSP game I showed them on the back of the case that it said UMD. Even then they still said it counts as a DVD but eventually they allowed it. I really don't want to go through that again.
I also don't think double dipping had any effect because people did the same thing in 2004 and they still allowed it in 2005 so if it was a major problem, they would have done something about it in 2005's game.

i say doulde dipping was a bigger prolem
2004 99% were 1 buck
2005 33% were 3 bucks
tons more money lost
