Today I found (all complete):

Grim Fandango
Full Throttle
King's Quest VI
Cutthroats (Infocom)

Probably won't mean much to the younger crowd, but I thought it was a pretty sweet pickup of classic PC games.

Wow, that's great. Are these with complete boxes or what?

I can recommend 3 of those and strongly recommend 2 of them (but I don't care for text adventures). How much were they?

They are complete with boxes and manuals, and Cutthroats is stupidly complete. It has all of the crap that Infocom threw in with their text adventure games that added to the atmosphere, and that stuff looks untouched. The boxes aren't in perfect condition (I'd say very fine using comic scales), but I'm really happy to have found them.

Yeah, I'm really excited because I have jewel-case only copies of KQVI and Full Throttle, and I always wanted the packaging. I even bought a jewel-case only copy of Grim Fandango for a friend two years ago from the Lucasarts website assuming that they'd keep selling it forever and I'd eventually get a copy for myself. I kicked myself when they stopped selling them, so this made up for it.

The cost was a little unfortunate and that's why I didn't mention it originally - it was $13 for all 4, which isn't quite up to CAG thrift/yard sale standards I don't think.

I've never played the text adventure, but I've played the other 3. Full Throttle was meh for me, but Grim Fandango and FFVI were such great games. I think I still have the jewel case release of Grim Fandango somewhere.

It may be high for thrift standards, but it's still a damn good deal.

Thanks, I actually haven't ever played Grim Fandango and I'm looking forward to it. I hope I don't have to dig out an ancient Win95 PC to play it, though.

And I was happy with the prices, though with people here getting Neo Geo AES systems and TurboExpresses for pocket lint and some used bubble gum, I didn't figure the price was worth mentioning initially.

Wow! Great deal. Since they are complete I would have paid up to $20 or so!

Full Throttle. Now that's a game that takes me back a ways. I never could beat the final level, though; the one where you're inside the train (I think). Does anyone remember how you beat it?

Your inside a truck hanging off a plane actually. I remember how to beat it, but it'd just be easier for both of us for you to just look up a walkthrough.

The only thing missing from that haul is Day Of The Tentacle. Nice find!

Oh man, I LOVE finding old complete PC games at Goodwill and secondhand stores. My recent scores have included Master of Magic, Betrayal at Krondor, an older Elder Scrolls game (Battlespire), The Ultima Collection, and lots of others.

That was a really awesome find. Grim Fandango alone sells for $49.90 in just the jewel case at GoGamer.com....double in price from just a few months ago.

Nice haul! Even at the price you paid it's still an awesome score. You could ebay one of those titles and come out ahead.

As far as playing the games, just download DosBox and a frontend like D-Fend. Those programs work like a charm. I've been playing the original Bards Tale series and D&D gold box series on my XP machine with little trouble.

It looks a lot like the picture on this wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_Throttle - "landscape" style box.
