View Full Version : Why didn't EXIT receive a lot of buzz?

If you own a PSP you should really track this game down. It's a fantastic puzzle game. There are 100 levels in the game and 100 more you can download from the Ubisoft site.
I don't understand why it didn't seem to be popular - it's one of the better games for the system, IMO.

Yeah, I picked this up for around $15. It's a fun little puzzle game...nothing too exciting, but fun.
Why no buzz....do ANY PSP games get any buzz anymore? Great system, just lack of excitement about it anymore. I found that out when my local BB/GameRush only had maybe 20-30 PSP games to rent. They have more pre-owned games than rentals.

Yep, unfortunately even when there's some stellar titles that come out you never hear any buzz about them. I mean its a little over a month away from the release of the new GTA and absolutely no one is talking about it.
I got this for $8.96 at the CC sale and I did enjoy it for a little while but I felt as if it got really repetitive quickly. I traded it in.

Actually, it's one of my favorite games. Not your typical puzzle game with moving blocks, it requires thought, strategy as well as a good amount of trial and error. To me, that what a puzzle is.
The controls take some getting used to, especially the long jump, but overall it a wonderful game with a great style and cool music. Too bad the voice-over was so goddam awful and annoying.
the sequel is out next week in japan

I picked it up at the CC sale too. Besides some pathfinding problems and the annoying people you rescue, its a great game. Not one I'd play straight for 3 hrs. But I put it in every once in a while and do a couple levels. Its a good addition to anyone's library.

same here, got it at the cc sale. it's a good game if want to kill some time, but it gets old fast.

I <3 EXIT. It's absolutely perfect for short bursts due to the length of the levels, but I can't keep playing it for an hour or two. I still play it every once and a while, of course.
The extra 110 levels got through downloading should keep me busy after I beat all 100 levels, too.

Great game some of the puzzles are really tough, though.

The second game (Which hasn't been mentioned of in the US, so it may never make it over here), was only a few bucks on play-asia for a while and I imported it. I had already played the first and loved it, so this was a no brainer. Price has gone back up on it though but if you can find an imported copy it is mainly in english.

Essentially yeah. Any non-established title on the PSP beyond Luminese has been pretty much dead in the water until it gets ported to something else for the bias against the PSP. A shame really since Exit was a cool game.
Also, if you're at your local TRU clearance, do yourself a favor a pick up Mercury 1. It's a neat little puzzle game that plays a bit like Super Monkey Ball crossed with Wetrix.

Cool, I just picked up Mercury today. I have Exit too, but just bought it last week so haven't had the chance to play it yet.

I just got Exit today from Fry's for a nice $12 price tag and I'm loving it. It's definitely a thinking man's game. It's always nice to have that "How the fuck do I solve this puzzle?!" feeling and realizing that changing one thing completely fixes the problem.
Is Me and My Katamari a hard game to find? My Fry's has the import version for $20 and I'm wondering if I should hold out for an English version, whereever I can find it.

i didn't like it because it was tooooooo slow. i spent so much time waiting. and its frustrating when you almost solve a puzzle than because the guy is so slow he ends up trapped behind a door and you have to restart the whole thing.

oops double post
Same reason most great PSP games don't get a lot of buzz... Sony keeps ghost-releasing great software without paying for advertisement, so no one really knows about it.
I still have yet to get Exit. I've heard nothing but good about it though.

I felt it was too slow and could have used a bit more panicky rushing (i.e. hurrying through 8-1 in SMB.) Mr. ESC felt like he had no experience rescuing people instead of a bad ass rescue master. Who knows exactly what they were going for though.

The internet. Actually, Amazon had it for $10 a while back but it might be tough to find now.
