Eventually. And then they will RE-RELEASE all 6 movies for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray ... then release them again with COLLECTOR'S EDITION attached to the title... and then the ULTIMATE BOX SET.... Poor poor cows, their milk is all dried up.

I don't understand why he cant just add the winning lottery numbers as well since he gets the newspaper that early. How unbelieveably selfish.
Thanks for the future Speedy!

I guess I will just wait until the street date gets closer and hopefully there will be a thread describing all the differences and which one is best. So far 17 doesn't thound so bad though.

Can you please tell me if they have any TV's listed in the ad for next week? My grandma is looking to get a small TV for her kitchen and we're going to go with the 15" Trutech LCD in this week's ad since it comes with a free cheap DVD player too. If there's something better coming though I'd like to wait. And can you tell me if they have any floor lamps listed, like a back to school section? I know, odd requests but thanks for any help.

I sure hope so. As I'd like to get them on release, but not too much money to go around right now. So here's hoping newer released sets get a decent mark down.

Last year was one of the best in the a while with DVD sets.

Firefly was created by Joss Whedon, the guy who did Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Similar to the creator of Lost (J.J. Abrams), in that the fans of that show are so insanely fanatical about it that they automatically worship anything else the guy does.

Evolution: Underworld AND Ultraviolet at $9.99 already?

I'm REALLY glad I held off buying these when they came out, I'd be royally pissed if I had them and they were already dropping like stones. For $9.99 I might grab Hostel as well.

Thanks Speedy!!
Just caught Ultraviolet today after renting it. Debating if it's worth $10. Definitely worth a purchase, not sure at what cost yet.

I remember the movie coming out at something like $13.99 or $14.99, same with Underworld: Evolution... at $10 a piece I'll pick them up, big movies like that generally don't go alot lower.

I wonder what is going on in the industry for them to start slashing prices like crazy? It's almost not worth getting a movie on release day anymore.

a lot of the tv series listed for target are already marked down to those prices ($18.99) at my local target. maybe it is to compete with CC and BB's current sale.

Same here. No need to wait until the 10th for those great prices.

I don't consider a $10 price point to be crazy price point. It's actually what all DVDs should be going for, minus new releases. Now, if they started cutting alot more stuff to that $4-5 price point, I'd be impressed.

Then I really want to to get Grey's season 2, The Office Season 2, My Name is Earl Season 2 AND Family Guy Volume 4 is coming out in a few months. I hate having started college! I am going through WAY too much money already so I don't have as much to buy crap with as I used to! ARGHH!!

So besides these Star Wars movies being the original versions, what is so special about them? I saw some people on DVD Talk saying the transfer wasn't cleaned up, but that's all.

I don't know if I want the tin at Best Buy or the damn lithographs... what does the Tin come with, and are the movies packaged seperately??

Just trying to decide if I should sell the trilogy box set I have of the three movies where Lucas f'ed with them and get the OT unedited... I'm leaning towards yes because that tin is sweet but I just wonder what else is in it.

For an MSRP of $79.99 it better be more than just a tin.. even at the sale price of $59.99 I'm kind of leary.

IIRC, they're widescreen but not remastered. It'd be like going to see the movie in the 70s. It's unedited though.

Arg, damn you Lucas... I've also heard rumblings that the 30th anniversary is soon and he may dip into these again for remastered unedited footage. Those screenshots are an awesome comparision, Trakan.

What to do, what to do... I really don't want to keep Luca's "butchered" versions on DVD, espically with all the additional edits he made.

You would not only be getting the unedited versions of the films, but each of the movies come with the 2004 DVD versions as well, since they're two disc sets. So you might as well sell the trilogy dvds, and keep the bonus disc that came with them. If you feel like watching the orginal Star Wars Trilogy, then you can, or if you want to watch it with the best picture, you still can too(or use them as coasters if you really hate those versions).

Wait, you mean the tin has the original movies in it, or every version has both the original and the 2004 edition? This is the first I've heard of this.

Holy crap you're right, just checked it out on Amazon. I better list my Widescreen trilogy DVD set on Ebay right now.

OK i'm fit fired mad at Target. When you have an ad and it says Season 1 & 2 instead of VOLUME ONE for Family guy it fracking confuses the hell out of people. The store that i went to to purchase this yesterday had the sign inbetween both with no SKU# saying it was for Family Guy 1 & 2.

So i went ahead and got VOLUME 2 which i thought was part of the sale. Since it says under the ad Season 1 & 2 and all of the other sets except for the new ones were also on sale for 18.99 at the store (season 1,2,3 of 24 for 18.99 wow) So i get home looking over the sales receipt today cause i need to return a item and find i was charged 39.99

This is one of those things that i hate stores for. I've already opened up the set and watched it and now i gotta go back and bitch about it. I did so today and was told they couldnt do anything about it. The temporary price reduction sticker was now replaced with one with the SKU# and now clearly states that its for VOLUME 1 SEASON 1 & 2. Where as before it said differently.

Now i know i'm not crazy as i talked to an employee about it thats in the media section. But the manager refused to refund my money. Which i believe is the right thing to do.

So anyone have a number where i can contact corporate?

You mean to tell me you didn't notice a $20 difference in what you were being charged when you were checking out? I mean, it's hard to feel sorry for you with that big of a difference missed. But there is a corporate 800# for customer service somewhere on their website.

No offense, but I think you're new to the Family Guy DVD game. They combined S1&2 for vol 1 because S1 was about 13 episodes. Hence why its labeled as voumes now. If you have the money, just go back and get vol 1. You'll be happy that you did. Ultimatly, if you call "corporate", they'll tell you round aboutly that you should have paid more attention to the ad.

I'm not jumping on your case and calling you stupid or anything. Though, I do agree that it should have said vol1 and not just S1&2. But still, it has a picture for vol1 in the ad

bzchanboy

It was a combination of things, mainly the fact that i own Volume 1 and 3 not 2 but its the ad and even worse the pricing sign that made it confusing so i guess i took the risk. But i was under the assumption that it was a mistake on their part and that they were calling season 2 volume 2 which has happened in the past with other series.

Wasnt so lucky this time. But it was the fact that the signs changed that really piss me off i would get my money back if it had the original sign.

Most places (ie, Circuit City and Best Buy) have it listed, albeit in tiny print, underneath the sale item if any other vols or season are also in the sale though. Ultimatly though, at least you now have all the vols on DVD now. Personsaly, I can't wait for vol 4
