Yep, all those prices listed look MSRP. ($39.99 current gen, et al.)
$5 off at Target (via gift card) sounds good.
(or you can preorder at EB/GS and get silly mash-em-up trading cards as a bonus)

Or use a GGC at BB and never have to fuck with the whole gift card thing.
$29.99 for Mario Hoops is $5 cheaper than EB/GS; I'll be getting that one at release time!

Cool that saves me $5 on Mario 3 on 3, so is it safe to assume all DS games will be $29.99 first week? (me is hoping FF 3 is because it shows $39.99 on eb and gamestop)

Actually do a search online, the 360 version of NHL '07 is actually very next gen and features a lot of things that is not goign to be on any of the current gen/pc versions.

They probably are... the originals came out for $30. I guess it depends on what they've done to flesh out the sequels. Either way, mine should be shipping from Overstock for $20 :D

IIRC, Lego SW1 came out at $39.99, I remember my aunt picking it up for her kids at that price.

Maybe it was just the GC version that came out at $30? Since it did release well after the Xbox and PS2 versions. It took forever to drop to $20.

Precisely. It came out for PS2 and XBOX at $40, then months later finally came out for GameCube at $30.. shortly before it hit $20 on PS2 and XBOX.
I remember because I worked at GameStop, and I was just as confused as the parents that such a great kid's game wasn't available on the GameCube but on the XBOX.

If it is higher, it's because the first one was received so well.

There's the reason right there. The original game was sort of a crap shoot, but it went over very well with the gaming community. They are really putting more into the second iteration, and so a little more tacked onto the MSRP is to be expected.

Best Buy will price-match competitors advertised prices up to 30 days after your purchase, so if you already bought Xenosaga, you can still pricematch CC and get your $10 back. I know I fully intend to.
I'm also gonna pick up Tomb Raider Legend for sure. That's a hot price.

I assume you kept your receipt? Just bring Circuit City's ad to Best Buy and get a PM, Best Buy does 110% on price adjusts after the fact, so Xenosaga 3 will come out to be $28.99.
This ad still falls well within the 30 days even if you bought Xenosaga 3 at launch. Lenticular cover AND $29.99? I'm totally there.
I might pick up Tomb Raider Legends for $19.99 after GGC too. Table Tennis I'm still waiting on that drop to $20.

That's common these days, if you put a game on sale a week or so after it has been out, stores are guaranteed to have it in stock. CC does this often, espically with PC releases, they'll have a sale after the game has been out a week or two.
It's alot better than putting a new game on sale and not having the game come in until Thursday and people keeping calling and asking about it.

I think the GGC reduces the original price you paid on the receipt. So if you used the GGC now, then pricematched, you would only get $5 back.
So, using the GGC is a waste if you know you are going to pricematch it.

(NOTE: Limited 1 per customer)
Nitendo DS Lite Bundle: DS Lite system + Over the Hedge + Nintendo DS Lite Starter Kit (price pending)
Lego Star Wars II games will sell at MSRP. I imagine if you plan on purchasing the 3 DVDs, you could do separate transactions and receive 3 gift cards. Same goes when purchasing the game. Not a bad deal, since BB's SW DVDs are $16.99.
Don't you have to buy the DVDs and LSWII? That's what it seems from your post, so you'd have to buy 3 copies of LSWII with the DVDs to get 3 giftcards.

how do you pricematch at best buy? you go up with the ad and the game and show it to the cachier?
2 ways to PM:
1) With ad but no game, you get same price match.
2) With receipt and game, you get price match + 5% off if you decide to buy from BB.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

Just in case people don't know, the original films are not going to be widescreen enhanced on these DVDs. That's why I'm passing on them.

Just because it's an advertised price, doesn't necessarily mean its on sale.

Sigh... nice list it's too bad all the GGCs at the Bestbuy on Broadway are all EXPIRED. I was going to start usign them to buy games untill I discovered this yesterday while picking up the Lenticular cover Xenosaga 2... But atleast i found Desgaea 2 for 5 bucks cheaper at a momnpop shop so I kinda feel validated.

If the BB still sells them, they may still honor the coupons. My BB has in the past.

Thanks for attempting to help, but I already know what the game's all about.. lol.
I wasn't asking about the game, just if anyone had seen it on ad, yet.. for those that get the ads in advance.
Kind of odd that it ships next Tuesday, probably on shelves Wed/Thurs, and yet there's no word of it. Even Capcom's site says 9/12 for release.
Oh well..

It's limited to only Best Buy, and yea, it'll make a difference on Ebay down the road. It'll only be a small difference, probably like $5, but hey, it's still something.
As for being "limited", nah, local BB had about 35 of them, but I guess it's still limited when you consider how many copies of this game are out there at other retailers.

BLECH!!!!! It seems that CC and BB lately have had crap in their weekly sales. The ONLY deal I saw at BB this week was Tomb Raider: Legend for $24.99. The rest, imo, were crap deals.
Then again, I haven't been buying many games lately, CAG has spoiled me on EVER buying at full retail anymore. I've only maybe bought 3-4 games in the past 2-3 years at full retail.
Those were: Stubbs the Zombie, The Warriors, God Of War and GTA San Andreas. To me, most of the rest of the dreck coming out now isn't worth the gamble.

It's not that they aren't supposed to, it's that the register will take the GGC off the original price and NOT the PM'ed price, so it's one or the other, unless a manager throws down an override.

I fucking hate it when they make you sit around for a year for a price match and do everything in their power to stop it.
Guy lied to me about it not being in stock at circuit city. I kinda sensed this so I called them on my cell and was told they have tons of copies. Came back and got it price matched, along with the extra 10%

I just got back from getting Tomb Raider: Legend for $19.99 with GGC. Funny thing happened at the register. I was getting 2 more gamer gift cards at the same time and I told the guy I wanted $5 on each. He said "I bet I know why you're getting these. It's to get more free games, huh?" I was like, "Well, $5 off isn't exactly free, but it's better than nothing."
Then he got done ringing everything up and said that my total was "$10 even." He thought he had scanned Tomb Raider, but apparently it didn't register and that's why he thought the coupon gave me a free game. I could have walked out of there without paying for it, but being the basically honest person that I am, I told him about it.

I purchased Xenosaga III from BB yesterday, and went back in today with the CC ad. Got the difference + 10% credited to my card right away without any phone stuff. My guess is, if you bought it previously at the store and then do the price guarantee later you may have better luck. Also I guess they'd have to call if you don't have an ad on you.

Well, coupon says "markdowns taken off regular price", so they're not supposed to allow the coupon. But like you said, if you get the right person, you can get them to override it.

Well, coupon says "markdowns taken off regular price", so they're not supposed to allow the coupon. But like you said, if you get the right person, you can get them to override it.
The computer dosen't understand the difference between regular price and sale price. That blurb is just there to discourage people.
If you just apply a coupon, it will always take it off of what the computer initially rings up the game as. For instance, Tomb Raider Legend for the 360 is $24.99 this week. We know that's a sale price, but the computer dosen't know, so the coupon will take $5 off that price making it $19.99.
Xenosaga 3 is $39.99 at BB... if you PM to CC's $29.99 ad, the cashier alters the price down to $29.99. If a coupon is applied AFTER this, the computer takes the $5 off of the original price, which is $39.99.
Now, a manager will come over, notice this, and give you one or the other, or the manager might not care / be too busy and provide an override, hence why it is YMMV. The cashiers don't have the power to override anything, it all falls onto the managers hands.
I've had them approve it, I've had them not approve it. Lots of factors go into it, it's generally not worth the hassle.

Apparently it depends on where you live, which sucks. If you play around with the "view weekly ad" links at target.com and change the zip code, you'll find that sometimes the page shows the free GC next to the NHL 07 box, somethimes it doesn't, depending on zip code.

I guess that's the difference in my interpretation, I would consider a normal price and a sale price to both be a "regular" price. Basically, I would consider anything that is in the Best Buy system to be a regular price (not that Best Buy would agree, LOL). But when the price has to be adjusted manually (as in a PM), it is no longer "regular".

I've had one Best Buy tell me they wouldn't accept a coupon on a sale or clearance price because it wasn't the regular price. The register has no problem letting it go through, but the cashier/Media employee may turn you down.
The most rediculous time I had with this was when something went down in price, so the sticker on the box said one price, and the register showed a different price. The cashier interpreted this as meaning it was on sale and not valid for the coupon. I went to talk to the first Media employee I found and had him pull it up on their in-store computer. It showed the price had dropped four weeks earlier and nobody had changed the sticker on the box. So he said that meant it was not regular price and not valid for the coupon. I asked him what regular price on the item was then, and he couldn't tell me, even though the computer in front of him plainly said the regular sell price was the same as the current sell price.
I just tried later with another cashier and had no problems.

That is QUITE true TheBigHouse.
Thanks for stating that fact. And it's real folks. Different areas will get different ads tailored to the specific geographic area that they wish to hit.
In my case, I'm told by my source that he regularly sees 3 different BB ads each week. One set go to point x, one to point y and another to point z.

I went to Target because they had it on sale for $19.99 (reg. $29.99) and they were supposed to have NHL 2K7 for $19.99 (reg. price). I got there, and wanted to compare the two before a purchase, and noticed that they didn't have 2K7!!! The only one they had was NHL 2007! They said 2K7 hasn't come in yet. I was planning on buying 2K7 over EA's. I then noticed the sign on the sale price said "$10 gift card with purchase of NHL 2007"--so I bought it, and sure enough, they gave me a $10 gift card with the purchase!! So in essence, I got the $30 game for $10!!! Not bad huh?? I will still probably get 2K7 also eventually......

As an update: even though my local Target ad didn't have the GC offer, when I was in target today, I stopped by electronics and they had signs with the offer on it, so it may be worth checking out (or at least calling). What was weird is that when she scanned the game, the register didn't show the GC offer like it usually does, so instead of a free $10 GC, she just took $10 off the price of the game for me.

I picked up a copy at EB on Wednesday, but the BB website says the local store (Indiana) has them, so I assume copies are out there at those retail stores by now.
If Xenosaga III was restocked at my local Best Buy without the exclusive cover, does that generally mean all online orders and all future restocks will just have the normal cover? Amazingly, all copies of the game sold out before I was able to go to Best Buy midday monday.
Thanks.
