how hot does the bottom of your 360 get? I just bought mine and i touched the the bottom of it, not even after having a 360 game in there, just messing around in the arcade and it got pretty damn hot, to the point where if i left my finger there longer it might have burned it...i don't remember my last 360 getting THIS hot, but then again I don't remember ever touching the bottom of it, just the back and top...

Its normal. Everytime I get near it, it feels like I have a little heater running. Had it since launch, no problems. *knock on wood*

I've enver really noticed it. I'll check mine next time I fire it up and do something. I've always kept my system horizontal, as I'm still of the old school way of thought that all systems should be that way lol

Yaeh, it emits a lot of heat. I've gotten used to it.

I have mine horizontal. It's on a pretty open audio rack. I've never noticed much heat coming off of it.

Same here...mine is on a 48" wire rack thats about 6.5 feet tall. Its sitting on the vry bottom shelve with about 8 inches of space below it and the power brick, so it has nothing but open air around it

Hmmm I've heard of people putting two books under each side so it has more air to breath. I've never touched side it lays on while playing but now I'm curious.
Yup. I put mine on a DVD case to just get a little airflow under the vents on the bottom. Seems to help quite a bit, actually.

Hmm, my 360 became after some guy tipped it over when Oblivion was running.
It emitted more than heat when that happened.

I would love to see a 360 on a thermal camera so we can see the heat it expells.

Me too.
I have my 360 on one of the glass shelves of my TV stand with the brick on the floor by the surge protecter/outlet extender. Damn thing feels like an oven when I play though.

Mine gets pretty hot horizontally (and freezes), but it scratches discs vertically, so it's pretty much FUBAR'ed either way.

I've always had my 360 horizontal. It's on a wooden table, so it's not like a cloth is sufficaing it. I'm afraid that if I put it up vertically, someone will accidently tip it over.

That's a great idea! I'd love to see this as well.
