Assassin's Creed CONFIRMED for Xbox 360

There's a whole article dedicated to it in the October issue of EGM apparently.

It's no secret -- Assassin's Creed (http://1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3143792) is officially coming to the Xbox 360. We expect official PR in the near future, but the October issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly confirms that the Ubisoft Montreal project is coming to Microsoft's next-gen platform. Earlier this week, Ubisoft confirmed (http://1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153312&did=1) a PC version of the title and from the pages of the October EGM came the Xbox 360 confirmation.

The article, titled, "Killing an Exclusive" doesn't detail anything about the multiplatform plans for Assassin's, so until official PR hits, there's a small army of other questions (http://1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3151655) to ponder. Will one version of the game have exclusive features? Will all three versions ship at the same time? Perhaps the most interesting questions of all are ones that start with "why." Why did Ubisoft announce Assassin's on 360 now? It doesn't help Sony at all to hold the announcement back until Sept. and let it slip before TGS or X06? Why did the marketing deal for this game work the way it did? Was it all to simply generate buzz and have people talking about Assassin's Creed without a whole lot of media being available for the game? We want to know. The game of cat and mouse is over, but the story of Assassin's Creed certainly isn't.

IGN has a headline up now. They're saying they've got the word straight from Ubisoft. Speculation can finally stop and we can officially add this one to the list of 360 games to watch. Looks great so far.

We knew it was going to happen, Looks like its going to be a pretty weak year ahead for Sony.

Just another reason not to buy a PS3.
I'm forsure going to be picking up Assassin's Creed on the Xbox360.

I wouldn't put it past Capcom and Konami to bring DMC4 and MGS4 over to the Xbox360. Its all going to be about how well sales do for the PS3 and if sales are bad expect more exclusives to go the same way as Assassin's Creed. And at this rate with the lack lust launch and their must have games being mult-console I wouldn't count it out.

Looks like its still the PS3 for me unless Microsoft miraculously gets DMC4 and MGS4, which I'm not counting on. Besides that, if the PS3 has exclusives the way the PS2 did I dont think I'd be able to not get a PS3.

God of War 2 is coming for the PS2. God of War 3 will be a few price drops down the road.

There are about 10 games I want for the PS3 currently, so unless I get a 360 though little money involved (aka through trading on this site), I'm not getting one.

Wasn't their confirmation that a DMC game, if not DMC4 itself, is coming to 360? I'm pretty sure it was mentioned when Dead Rising shattered Capcom's image of the 360 (in the US, at least).

At any case, someone track down that Sony fanboy and put his ass to bed. You know, the one that was trying to sell us that PS3 article that we now know is at least somewhat BS.

Yeah, that sounds well and good and all...but didn't the second two games in the PoP series *stank*?

I thought the first one was just phenomenal on Xbox, and I put down the second one after about 6-7 hours of play. It just wasn't working for me. I haven't tried The Two Thrones...so maybe it's more like #1 than #2. Maybe not.

Now I wanna go back and play them - are any of them BC on 360?

Assassin's Creed on Xbox 360 will be released to coincide with the Playstation 3 version in the first quarter of 2007.



There's the date, both versions look to be hitting at the same time.
