Can you bid on the same item that you are selling?

I'm not sure if you can technically do it (I doubt it), but I believe such bid-bolstering is against eBay policy, even with another account, etc.

And it doesn't make a whole lot of sense anyway. If you end up "winning" all you win is listing fees, final value fees, and relisting fees to actually try to sell the item. Not a wise move, IMO.

I don't think you can... but if you use another ID you could.

HOWEVER Shill bidding will get your acct banned.

I'm guessing you want to shill-bid because an item you're selling is going for less than what you expected and you'd hate to let it go for less than your perceived worth of it.

You can do it yourself under a different account, or get a friend to place a bid. Like daroga said, you're stuck with all those wonderful closing fees and relisting fees.

Now it's a question of ethics vs financial gain/loss. :cold:

eBay can impose all sorts of sanctions/deletions if you are discovered.

I had a bud who did that for himself and his account got supended for a month because one of his bidders or something reported him.
Be careful...
and remember that what, like 50% of bids come in the last day, if not half hour - depending on when you set to end your listing.
