I am going to pick up a new 360 game with my FYE credit and wanted some opinions. I know that Saint's Row is getting a lot of buzz, but I am a fan of Mech games in general. I will be going on-line with either game, but I do want a nice long single player experience too. What does everything think I should get?
Tough call... I wish I could answer.
If you got the dough, it'd be worth it to plunk down for both.
ChromeHounds single player eats the burger (that's negative); multi-player is where it's at, what with the customization and unique on-going war sytem.
Saints Row's single player is solid, and I enjoy it. The multi-player is fun, but laggy as Hell... I'm sure the multi-player will be great once they release the patch, though.
But you need a 360 first, right? ;o

If you're a fan of Mech games then Chromehounds will certainly not dissappoint, especially if you hop online with the CAG crew (aka HOSTILE). On the other hand, Saints Row is definitely not a let-down either. In either game you can roll with groups of CAGs (your choice whether it be a gang or a squadron), but since I have yet to buy Chromehounds I will vote Saints Row.

I was having a similar dilemma myself. But, I've waited this long on Chromehounds, so I can wait another month or two before it goes down to $40 - I'm gonna pick up Saints Row.

It's in the mail and my fingers are crossed.

This is the main reason I was leaning towards Saint's Row from the get-go is that I would think Chromehounds would drop the fastest.

I'd say get Chromehounds for the online play, the sooner you get it the better experience you'll have. If you wait too long, there may not be enough people playing this online.
Pick up Saint's Row once the patch up the multiplayer.

Saint's Row has got an awesome single player with a ton of shit to do, with a shit multiplayer because it needs to be patched.
From what I heard, Chromehounds has a shit single player, but a good multiplayer.
Saints Row multiplayer can and will be patched, so eventually it will be the ultimate game. I've played 15 hours so far in Saints Row and I'm only 30% done, so yea it has that long single player that you want.
And Linkin, when Chromehounds drops price I got a feeling alot of people will pick it up so there will always be people playing online.

Chromehounds is definitely not for everyone. Single player struck me as mind-numbingly dull. Multiplayer can be fun, at least from the brief experience I had with it on a friend's console - not so much because of the actual gameplay, but because of the persistent world setting. Overpriced marketplace content that may unbalance the game is a noteworthy drawback to the online, however.
Saint's Row...well, most people like GTA, and this is GTA with improvements. Pretty hard to go wrong here. Single player is great and multiplayer, even with the lag, is quite fun. When the patch comes out and we start getting downloadable content it should only add to the appeal.

silly silly omish saints row, chromehounds is meh. I have that games pass from Blockbuster and picked up chromehounds and played it online the first time and thought "wow cool" Than i played it the next day and thought "eh" Saints row, which i just got yesterday, is awesome so far. The single player is alot of fun and the multiplayer kicks so much ass its not even funny. I love the fact that you take your own gang online it cracks me up.

You say you're looking for a nice long single player experience. Saints Row has that, I'm at 25 hours in and only 68% done and not to mention the free roaming you can do. Chromehounds is terrible for single player. I hear the online is good, but I don't know about that. Saints Row's Live play is awesome right now, even with the hints of lag (which actually has gotten better), once the patch is released it will be so much fun.

I must be the only one who actually likes the single player in chromehounds...then again I'm only on the 4th mission or so as the soldier class.

IMO:
- Saints Row has a better single player experience.
- Chromehounds has a better multiplayer experience.
It's up to you to decide which "experience" is more important to you...with that said, I own and love both titles.

I love Chromehounds. I have slowed down on it a bit since SR came out but I know I will not stop playing it anytime soon. I clocked in over 100 hrs played online and that's still counting. I think we have had some great players on the squad and still have a several that are very dedicated to it. When you get a solid squad then you can have some major fun online. I enjoyed Single Player but I admit it wasn't the most engaging story but the missions were still fun.
Saints Row on the other hand has been fun both online and off but the MP has some serious issues that I hope they fix soon. If the patch comes a month or more from now I don't think that will help me. I remember waiting on CoD's patch that came............... but for me it was far too late. Either way I have enjoyed buying the right clothes for my online gangsta and killing some dumbasses with a nicely placed PimpSlap!!! Now, the only problem I have had is that I can't find enough people who want to pay online with me. I send out invites but some people just never accept. Or they give up after a couple of loading sessions which add up to about half an hour.

I know we owe you a few good rounds on Chromehounds since you joined. You and WildWop both have joined and have kind of felt a lonesome slap by joining and not having a lot of squad members to play alongside. I know a few of us are itching to get some good squad matches on so post what times you are available in the CH thread and we can get some good games in.
