Yea, I'm pretty surprised by this too... for awhile, I dreaded when someone from the military bought one of my packages, because it meant no delivery confirmation since the USPS didn't offer it when it was bound to an APO / AFO. I usually had to spring the extra for signature confirmation or SOMETHING to prove the receipent got it.
I had two packages bound to APO's recently, my girlfriend had to wait in line to mail them for me since I was busy at school... she called me to let me know that the USPS does in fact offer Delivery Confirmation to military addresses now and that they just started about a week or two ago.
So good news to everyone who ships to the military!
