I have $40 to spend on a dvd and I would like to get either the Mr.Show complete series for $40 at bb.com or Strangers with candy complete series from amazon for $40. Which one would you get?

Mr. Show. Its the complete series, and the season 4 stuff is funny as hell.

I own the complete Mr. Show (and am selling it actually) and I love it.

One of the funniest sketch comedy shows ever.

The lead character on Strangers with Candy gave me nightmares.

How can you be a real fan of Mr. Show and say the 4th season is good, maybe a few good laughs but nowhere near the first three, and owing both, i would definatley buy Mr. Show.

Mr. Show, easily. David Cross rules.

Seems like everyone is pretty much in agreement, but I'll throw another vote at you for Mr. Show. It's got some of my favorite sketch comedy ever.

I'm more of a Strangers with Candy man, myself.

Mr. Show. Besides I think you can watch Strangers for free on the comedy central website. Not that I care because I didn't like the candy show.

Season 3 is the shittiest Season IMO (not that it's bad but the worst of them all), and yes, Season 4 is the best. (Scams n Flams!)

I would actually go ahead and say get Strangers with Candy. Mr. Show is great sketch comedy but Strangers with Candy is written really well and the cast is fantastic.

Without a doubt Mr Show .. and when you're finished watching that, buy Run Ronnie Run. It's like Joe Dirt but funny.

If you haven't already bought, I'd say Strangers With Candy. It's consistently funny, while the first two seasons of Mr. Show are just OK. Also, Strangers has cooler packaging and many more extras.

However, either's a good choice

Meh, I was disappointed with run ronnie run, it had a few funny parts but overall I wasn't satisfied.

Mr. Show absolutely...Strangers is funny but not nearly as good as one of the best sketch shows ever made....and Run Ronnie Run- I agree with the previous post that it was only ok...that's likely because Bob and David weren't allowed to edit and have both said nobody should buy the version that is out because it's not nearly as funny as they could have made it.

Strangers With Candy.

This isn't even a question.

They [Bob & David] didn't get to edit it like they did everything else. Bob blames being unhappy with the film on that reason.

Yeah and you'll notice one of the most surprising things is that the deleted scenes are as funny as the funniest stuff in the film, and likely even moreso.

I suspect the director cut out those funniest bits, fucked with the editing and such, kept in small little cheesy jokes, and likely added that retarded cartoon at the beginning of the film.
