While checking out the pawn shops, I happen to see a broken PSP for sale. All it came with was the power cord and the 32 meg card. The only thing that seem to be broken was the power switch - it was loose and didn't slide back to its position (it was pretty much dangling). Is this easily fix BTW?

I was intrigued - I wanted to see if it could charge so I asked him hook it up to a power source. The orange indicator never turn on and I ask him to put in a known good PSP battery to see if it'll still charge and it didn't.

It's 50 bucks, as is, for the PSP. Should I skip this offer?

If you dont have anything better to spend $50 on then go for it. It might be fun trying to fix it.

Couldnt you also call Sony and give the serial number to see if its still under warranty?

That was one thing I wanted to check out (to see if it was still under warranty).

However, they said they opened the PSP to check out the power switch problem. I think since they opened it, they probably voided the warranty.

Yeah, I really really want to mess around with it but with the battery not charging with a known good battery, its really a huge gamble.

I'd say skip it, I bet they fucked up more than just the switch when they opened it.

Same way I felt. What a shame though, I would have jumped on that deal if had the battery charged.
