My local Sams has 3 Vizio 32" LCD tv's for $459 each( last ones). The model # is L32HDTV10A. I was wanting to wait until the holidays and get a 1080P set but is this set worth picking up now? Any advice from some savy HDTV members is appreciated.

What kind of electronics will be connected to your 1080p if you purchase that set instead?

I have a Sony XBR 40" LCD HDTV. I shopped and shopped and shopped wondering about waiting on the 1080p LCDs but unless you have a 1080p tv hooked up next to a 720p/1080i you're not gonna sit at home longing for the 1080p picture. Don't get me wrong it looks good, but the jump just isn't as much as you'll be lead to believe. Watching ESPN on mine the picture is just absolutely amazing. The 720p 32" model you're looking at will be fine and the price is definitely right. Go for it. It's also going to be awhile before you have a lot of things you can actually watch in 1080p anyways.
Wonder is all the Sams have that deal, I need one for my bedroom??

I ran out of component connections on both of my LCDs, and is now considering adding a 3rd set. plus, LCDs are dropping in price fairly steadily. problem is if I add another HDTV, then I gotta add another surround sound system. [this may really piss off the sig-other]

not too sure if those switching devices are any good. recommendations?

I had to use a Pelican device when I had my old tube HDTV with my PS2, XBox, 360, Gamecube, etccc. and it worked like a charm.
If you're worrying about another surround sound you might want to go with surround sound headphones. I have one Sony LCD dedicated to just gaming and I bought a pair of the Sonys and I LOVE them. I can play late night and don't wake anyone up. Plus they really do surround sound well, surprised the hell out of me. They were like 150.00, they sound good, and they take up no space at all. Just a suggestion.

Remember that there is no 1080p content out nor will there ever be, besides Blurray disks. HDtv broadcast in 720p/1080i only so unless this TV is only for your PS3 or blueray disc player it's worthless to wait for a 1080p TV.

I'm getting a 65 inch Mitsubishi DLP 1080p on Sunday. I'm so excited. I'm the getting a Denon receiver with KEF speakears. My system is going to be the best system on the entire street, hell the neighborhood! :)

That is what I was going for. If Wanderlai is going into 1080P strictly for HD-DVD viewing, then he shouldn't jump the gun on some crumby budget brand LCD.

The 32" Vizio at $459 is a great price- usually runs for $699. I say you should jump on this deal. Take it home and play around with it for 3 days or so. If you ever decide to hell with this TV in that trial period, return the TV for the refund thanks to Sam's return policy.
(Sam's Club has a return policy on SALE items.. right?)

Someone above that said only Blu-Ray would be 1080p, just showing the link is all.
